The core strength of JMS was its devoted membership. JMS members were
people or groups who:
1. Believed the Church should make its resources accessible to blind,
deafblind and visually impaired persons
2. Supported the JMS ministry financially through membership fees and
other giving
3. Participated in the life of the Society by promoting its services
in church and community
4. Prayed for the Society regularly.
Membership entitled individuals to vote at annual meetings, receive and consider the annual financial statements, establish the bylaws, and appoint the auditors. In essence, JMS members were its governors.
