It is in the nature of the game that you're always going to find something that's perfect for your games...almost. And when you're as cheap as I am, you know you can't get exactly what you're looking for. Thus, the need for conversions. Plus, it's kinda fun to point to something and say "I converted that myself". I think it helps lend a sense of uniqueness to any game table.

Dollar Store Big Gun

Finished gun with a Foundry African Hunter This gun started life as a cheap plastic gun in a playset I found in a dollar store at Billings Bridge mall in Ottawa. The set came with twenty sky blue plastic Legion E'tranger figures (28mm) (more about them in a bit), thirty green plastic WWII US GIs (20mm), a quanset hut, sandbag walls, tank, armoured car, flag and flagpole. But the star of the package was, without doubt, the gun.

Gun as it originally looked I mean, nice big wheels, with spokes, in the "old fashioned way" and not WWII-style tires. The only problem was the fact that it was, er, bright green...with a big red knob since it "shot" little plastic shells. But a couple of clips, a little trimming, black primer, then Americana 'Avacado' coverage and done!

Gun from the Front I have a TSATF battery of these now and my friend Rudi Geudens in Belgium liked the look of them so much I sent him a battery too. He's got them in operation with his German colonial troops in the Afriborian campagin. As well the brilliant technicians in his drydock are modifying a couple of them for use aboard ship. Stop by the Afriborian Herald at the Universal General to see how they're doing.

I've been converted! Here's the letter to prove it! ehpeaell@yahoo.com
