The Sword and The Flame (TSATF), now in it's 20th anniversary edition, has been pleasing gamers for years with it's easy to follow rules, adaptablity, playability and straightforward fun!
What's
more, TSATF is (at least) two games in one! Included in the rule booklet are rules
for traditional battles of Queen Victoria's Little Wars. Information is given for
Pathans (1878), Zulus (1879), Boers (1880), Egyptians (1882), and the Dervish (1884). Further
suplements are available on the web, created by interested gamers who have expanded the rules
to a host of other eras and theatres. And
That's The Way It Was, publisher of TSATF also have made available a Boxer
Rebellion (1900) variant.
But that's not all! Also included in the core TSATF rule book is "The Sword in Africa", which covers African exploration, safaris, hostile natives and dangerous wildlife. That's right, another complete set of rules, so it really is two games for the price of one!
And Larry hasn't been resting on his laurals either. He has made available the Sword and the Flame Scenario Portfolio. 24 excellent scenarios with maps, all ready to play. They're a load of fun and well worth the purchase price.
