Acoustic Neuroma

• 10% of all intracranial tumours
• it is a benign schwannoma of vestibular branch of 8th cranial nerve (vestibulo-cochlear nerve)
• typically present as progressive unilateral SN hearing loss, unilateral tinnitis (ringing in ears) and unsteadyness, but not vertigo
• diagnosis is made by Audiogram - ABR - CT scan or MRI
