Spice's Obedience Page
Novice first leg
These are the prizes we won at our first obedience trials
held by the North York Obedience Club trials in Etobicoke, Ontario on
June 19-20th 1999. He got high score (185) in the Novice A class,
high score for a Novice A Shetland Sheepdog (he was the only sheltie
entered in Novice A) and high score for a Shetland Sheepdog on
Sunday, including Open and Utility classes. On Saturday we would have
qualified except Spice went down with 3 seconds left in the sit
stay.

Novice second leg
Spice got his second leg (176) at the Oshawa Obedience Trials
on July 17-18, 1999. This was our first outdoor trial and his scores
were not that great. We did meet lots of sheltie owners including one
that has shelties on his father's side and another owner that has his
half sister.
Novice third
leg
At the Dominion Collie and
Shetland Sheepdog Association All Breed Obedience Trails in Brampton
on October 10th, 1999 Spice got his third leg and a spare. He
received second place (181) in the morning and then first place (175,
only 2 of 9 qualified) in the afternoon in the Novice A class. His
corneal dystrophy was bothering him - you can see him squinting
slightly in his right eye. He did pretty good considering. In
December of 1999 we had the largest spot surgically removed and it
has not bothered him since.
