Warning to the Unsuspecting
I suppose this is how hell arrives
a degree at a time
the flames don't ignite
until the water is gone
until it's too late to fight
it's not just California
or the Sahara
even the arctic
is two degrees from gone
even the pulpit
is camped on arid lawn
it's time to divine
water from the garden
with a branch from
the center tree
to connect with the root
and drink deep
