to be between surf and sand
branch and beach
is to taste and see
that the Lord is good

I inhale the wind
with my mouth open wide
and I taste the sea
and know that the Lord is God

the bones of the sea
break in power
they thunder on the shore
and I wonder
how deep
how wide
is the power of the Lord
