inhale:

There is a powerful image in Genesis that is too often passed over in our scientific fascination. Genesis 2:7 tells us that "the Lord God formed mankind form the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and mankind became a living being." This moment holds the secret of humanity. It tells us that the breath of God is in us - that our life is divine inspiration. It also demonstrates the unique and intimate relationship between God and humanity. The Lord God held us in his hands and put his lips upon our face and shared with us his very breath; no other creation has such an intimate and powerful gift.

I have made this image my foundation for daily life - I seek to always be living from the source, breathing the breath of life. If we do not receive our life from the God who made us, we are lacking, we are inhaling insufficient air. It is then no surprise that humanity is so plagued by fear and lack of fulfillment. Our global society is gasping for air.

The first step to restoration is to breathe the breath that gave us life - to restore that original intimate relationship with our Creator. I encourage you to seek his breath through prayer and constant intentional consciousness of the One who made you. Every time you inhale, think of the Lord. Anytime you are discouraged, remember, your body is made of dust, but your soul is the very breath of God.

To inahle, is only the beginning . . . read on.
