The Adom Project:

Africa is a land suffering from many wounds: AIDS, civil war, poverty, and oppression to name only some. While the challenges are disheartening, there are many who are actively doing what they can to change the direction of this struggling continent.

I spent the summer of 1999 working with the Adom Project - a small yet powerful organization building a future for the West African nation of Ghana though education and leadership development. Located just outside the city of Kumasi, the Adom Project runs an elementary and junior high school that helps feed, educate, and develop young leaders in a village plagued by poverty and broken families. For these children, the Adom Project is their only hope to break the cycle of suffering. Dr. and Mrs. Monte, native Ghanaians, run this school primarly through donations from college students in the United States and their own dedication and hard work. Their work is changing lives of young people in Ghana and preparing the future not only for the village, but potentially for the nation and beyond.

You can support this project through prayer and donations. To adopt a child or find out more please email or write to:
