Sonny and Mike entered the penthouse. "Look who I ran into on the docks." He said to Luke winking and flashing his dimples.
"Good idea partner, good idea." Luke remembered the help that Mike had given him when Lucky had gotten drawn into that Timoria game by the Cassadines. Mike had explained to him what Timoria meant and about the Julian Calendar. What Mike had told him had helped him out a lot during that time and he knew he could help now. "Give him a couple of days with a lexicon and we'll know what we are dealing with."
"Without putting Alexis in any unnecessary danger." Sonny smiled glad that Luke had caught on quick.
Roy nodded. "Brilliant idea gentleman."
"Thank you." Luke and Sonny said in unison. The Sonny gave Luke a look that said, 'why are you taking credit for my idea?' and they both laughed.
Mike was pleased with what he saw but impatient cause he felt left out of the loop. "Well, I'm glad you boys have made up but can someone fill me in on what I'm supposed to be doing."
Roy gathered the papers and started sorting the Greek ones from the English ones. He started to explain what was going on and Mike listened intently and started searching the papers.
The phone rang. "Sonny Corinthos," Sonny answered watching as Luke joined the men at the table.
"Sonny, It's Jax. I just wanted you to know that I'm taking my wife out of town for a while, to help her heal, so she can get some rest." That was there cover story. They still didn't want to let everyone in on the mission, not knowing for sure if it would pan out. "Anyway, I'm just letting you know so you can call off your guards, or reassign them or whatever. We won't be needing them."
"Are you sure? You can take them with you. They are used to traveling. They know what to do." He knew Alexis was in danger and that it wasn't smart for them to be unprotected.
"I'll watch out for her, besides, we aren't exactly making it that easy for us to be followed. We'll be okay."
"Be careful." Sonny said not wanting to argue and deciding not to tell them that they had found the papers until they'd found out what they meant.
"We will." Jax said wondering when things had gotten this easy between him and Sonny. It was still about Alexis but it was becoming more despite what either of them wanted.
*~*~*~*~*~* "Did he buy it?" Alexis asked Jax when he hung up the phone.
"He's not even suspicious. I think he might even think its a good idea for you to get away from everything or he would have fought us harder on dumping the guards.
"So now you are an authority on what Sonny thinks. I should get knocked over the had and stepped on more often. Maybe there'd be peace in the middle east."
He opened the door and they headed out. When they got to the airport. The guards saw them to the private plane they were taking. "I'll miss you guys." Alexis said to them with a wink as Jax pulled her up into the plane and closed the door behind her after giving Johnny and River a 'She's Mine!' look.
*~*~*~*~*~* She'd been asleep almost the entire trip. He was slightly relieved because her panic on small planes was usually so intense but he was also angry with himself for letting her talk him into this. 'She's barely out of the hospital. How can you let her do this?'' The plane had landed and although she looked so peaceful he had to wake her. "Lex "
She woke up startled having been in the midst of a dream. The dream had felt so comfortable and real. She was lying in a bed being held by 2 strong arms and had felt so at peace that she didn't even want to move, but her curiosity of who the arms belonged to was too strong. She turned her head and it was Jax. Jax was holding her. She'd never felt better or more secure in her life. She realized then that no matter how bad she felt about what Ned had done, she could still be happy, and deep down she wished Chloe and Ned luck. After all, she was one of the first to notice that they would make a good couple. She smiled at Jax and said, "Are we there yet?"
"Yes wife, so rise and shine."
"Yes, sir!" she said saluting accidentally touching the sore spot on her face and wincing.
"We need to change that bandage." Jax said concerned. "We'll do it first thing when we get to the hotel."
~*~*~*~*~*~* A tear slid down her cheek betraying the calm demeanor she tried to display in order for him not to think he was hurting her. "I'm sorry that this hurts so much."
"It has to be done. I'm sorry I can't just buck it up and take it like a man."
"Well, that would be sort of hard since you are definitely not a man." He said to her giving her body a long look of admiration.
"Stop looking at me like that. You are going to give me ideas."
"What kind of ideas?" Jax asked sexily, raising his eyebrows.
"Oh I'm sure you know what I'm talking about." Alexis said starting to wonder when their flirtation had taken such a serious turn. She started to get nervous and looked away.
"You sure you don't mind sharing the bed tonight?" Jax asked her concerned for her knowing that she needed time, time to get over Ned, time to fall in love with him.
"I'm not banishing you to the floor, after all, you are my husband."
"I've been your husband for 9 months, it hasn't happened before." Jax said smiling having finished the dressing change and removing the supplies from the bed. He put his arm around her shoulder instinctively, she leaned against him and found a comfortable position.
"I beg to differ, what do you call what you did when I was in the hospital. You laid along side me all night long in that little bed. This bed is much bigger we have a lot more room. We don't have to even touch each other ... if we don't want to." She said sliding down so that she was laying on the bed.
He took her lead and slid down next to her. He wanted to touch her, he wanted a lot more, but he was content to lay there next to her. She pulled his arms around her and placed them across her like they'd been in her dream. 'This is better than I felt in the dream.' She thought to herself as she fell asleep in his arms.
He was a little disappointed but knew she need to rest so that they could start there mission. She felt so good to him. Their bodies fit together so well that he couldn't help but imagine how perfectly they'd fit in a more sensual situation. 'She might sleep tonight, but I definitely won't.' He couldn't bring himself to break the connection. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~* They stayed like that all night long. Alexis woke up knowing this time it wasn't a dream.
"Hey wife, ready to face the day."
"No, " she said burrowing closer to him and putting her hands on his arms. "But we need to anyway. You want the privilege of the first shower."
"Oh, the privilege is it? You know you just don't want to get up yet." She threw her pillow at him as he made his way to the bathroom, missing him by a mile.
"I'll get you for that," was the last thing he said to her before leaving the room.
The bed felt so empty without him. She grabbed the pillow he'd vacated and held it tightly to her chest. She closed her eyes and didn't hear the masked men enter the room.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~* "All yours!" Jax announced as he entered the hotel room. Noticing the items that had been turned over in the room, he started to panic. "Alexis, Alexis" he yelled, knowing she was no where to be found. "They've got her." He said aloud to no one in particular. "What do I do now?"
