Carly stood there with her head down, carefully avoiding Bobbie's gaze.
Bobbie was surprised at Carly's silence. She had expected some type
of
rude remark. But she realized that it was her responsibility to make
the first
move. She took a deep breath and let it all out as she exhaled. "Carly,
I
came to apologize."
Carly looked up, startled by Bobbies words. "What?"
"I'm sorry." Bobbie said slowly this time. "I was out of line last night.
I was
just surprised to see you."
"Yeah?" Carly asked as tears filled her eyes.
"Yeah." Bobbie said softly. "Carly, you're my daughter. I don't condone
all
the lies you've told, but I want to move past them."
"I'd like that" Carly said with a small amile
"Well, welcome home." Bobbie said with a big smile."Thank you. Oh, sit
down."
Bobbie and Carly sat near each other on the couch and there was an
awkward silence. Neither knew what to say. Finally Bobbie broke the
silence as she slowly said. "Carly, are you sure that this marriage
is a good
idea?"
"I love him, Bobbie." Carly got up as she walked to the window and looked
out. Tears filled her eyes as she whispered "I truly do."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Edward, the Quatermaines Lawyer, Jason and Justus all watched as AJ
signed the legal document, which gave Carly and Jason full legal custody,
and AJ getting weekend visits every 2 weeks.
As he finished, he angerly threw the pen across the table and said.
"Thee?
Are you happy? You've got my son."
Jason just stared at him. AJ's face grew red as he yelled "What? Nothing
to
say, Mr. Don. Mobster?" AJ stood up. "Hmm? You marriage to Carly is
the
biggest fraud of the centruy! Ha! You love her! That tramp is the most
un-lovable piece of trash on this planet."
"Hey!" Jason said angerly, after a subtle nudge from Justus, he stood
up.
"Shut your damn mouth about Carly. We're getting married because we
love
each other, and we love Michael."
With that Jason left the room with Justus right behind him.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"OK, ready?" Carlys voice rang from inside the dressing room.
"Yes." Bobbies impatient voice rang out.
"Now you guys need to be totally honest, ok?" Carly yelled out
"Ok." Bobbie said
"Promise?"
"Yes, we promise Carly now come out already!" Bobbie said and exchanged
an amused glance with Latecia. They were sitting in the fitting room
of the
bridal shop. They were in a big room, the walls were all mirrors. There
were
a few chairs, and a pedestal in the middle. There was also a tiny dressing
room.
Michael was in Latecia's lap, and Bobbie sat next to them. Finding a
dress
was a long hard process because Carly kept insisting that she was a
size 6.
But due to the dramatic weight differnce in some dresses she was a
4, and in
others a 2. Therefore they kept having to change sizes.
Bobbie had realized that there was no changing Carlys mind about the
wedding, so she had decided to just go with it. Jason had seemed so
gentle
with her this morning, and so loving, last night, that she allowed
herself to
hope that there was more to this marriage than just Michael. She had
even
agreed to watch Michael while Carly and Jason were on their honeymoon.
Spending the morning with Carly, Bobbie had watched her closely. She
saw
how she acted with Michael, Latecia, the bodyguards and everyone else
they
encountered. She noticed a more mature manner that did not exsist 6
months
ago. She began to have more faith in her daughters decisions.
Yet, she was still so worried that Carly's heart would be broken, again.
She
knew how much Carly loved Jason, but she also knew how much Jason
loved Robin. Robin and Jason's split up had nothing to do with love,
but with
betrayal.
But, she knew that there was nothing she could do. Carly's mind was
made
up. Bobbie had promised herself that she would support Carly's decesion
and just pray that, in the end, her daughters heart would be sparred,
and
everything would work out alright. But if it didn't, she would be there
for her
daughter.
Bobbie was interrupted from her thoughts by Latecia's gasp and voice.
"Carly, you look stunning."
Carly looked down and slightly blushed. She made her way on top of the
pedestal. "Thank you." she said toward Latecia and than turned toward
Bobbie who had aproached her. "What do you think?"
Bobbie inspected her daughter's slim figure in the simple, yet elegant
dress.
The straps were made of little jewels, resembling diamonds. The dress
was
made of satin and was off-white. The top was fitted, and right below
her
chest was a simple line of the jewels from the straps. At that point
the
dresses lightly flaired out, an empire waist. It fit Carly beautifully,
and helped
add more curves, to her now skinny body.
"You look so beautiful!" Bobbie cried out joyusly.
"Yeah?" Carly inspected herself in the mirrors.
The dress did look nice on her. Hell, it looked great, and Carly loved
it.
Despite the fact that it was totally not Carly style. Carly's style
was flashy,
and eye catching. But this dress was simple and elegant. The two things
Carly wanted to be. Simple and elegant.
As she admired herself in the mirror. She began to imagine herself in
a
beautiful garden. Next to her was her dream man. He was just as she
always
imagined him at Ferncliff. Tall, muscular, and faceless. In this reverie
the sun
glare was blocking his face. He was wearing a tux. There was a priest
and
no one else. They were gazing longinly into each others eyes, they
placed
rings on each others fingers and said their vows. Finally, they smiled
at each
other and leaned in, just as their mouths were kissing, Carly heared
"What
do you think Carly?"
Bobbie had interrupted her daydream. She looked at her bewildered. "What
did you say?"
Bobbie smiled slightly and said. "I asked you what you of the wedding
dress."
"I love it." Carly said softly. "This is it."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Jase?" Carly asked tiredly as she sat up in bed.
"Yeah?" Jason replied as he sat on the edge of her bed to take off his shoes.
She glanced at the clock and saw it was two in the morning. "Gosh, your
hours are odd." she said and than grew panicky. "How'd it go with the
Quatermaines?"
He turned to her with a grin and said. "He did it. He signed the papers.
Everything worked out like we had hoped!"
Carlys face flooded with relief as she pushed the covers off her, and
in a
matter of seconds had her arms around Jasons neck. She burried her
face
deep into his chest, and she felt tears drip down her face. Tears of
happiness
and relief. He slightly hugged her back. He was happy too, but he did
take
notice of how tiny she was in his arms.
She finally pulled away and slightly laughed, brushing her tears away.
"You
must think I'm a nut. I'm just so......happy!" she blurted out, and
took a deep
breath. "And relieved. God Jase, you had me so nervous. Please next
time,
call."
He gave her a small smile and said. "Sure."
She slightly laughed and crawled back under the covers and layed down.
"So, how'd it go with Bobbie?" he asked cautiously
Her face lit up even more as she leaned up a little and said "Great.
Just great.
Guess what Jase, she apologized, and then she went with me to go get
my
wedding dress!!" Her face was flushed with excitement as she relived
the
days events. "You know, I always dreamed of picking out my wedding
dress
with my mother. Of course, I always imagined Virgina, and I never quite
imagined these circumstances, but it was great."
He smiled at her and asked "So, you got a dress?"
"Yeah, it's really nice. It just needed a few altercations!" he nodded
and she
continued. "And you know what? It was a size 2! I was so surprised.
I'm
usually a size 6!"
He gave her another concerned look. "Carly, that's because you've lost
so
much weight." he gave her a thoughtfull look and asked "What did you
eat
today?"
She gave him a sheepish grin and said. "I guess I'm just not use to
eating a
lot."
"Carly..." he began in a scolding tone, but she interuptted him.
With her hands raised up in a sign of surrendor, she said "I know, I
know.
It's just that when I was at Ferncliff, I just ate so they wouldn't
get mad, or
something. The food was really bad. I guess I'm just use to eating
what's
given to me, and not for enjoyment, don't worry, I'll eat more tomorrow,
I
promise. I just need to adjust, give me that, OK?"
"OK, I understand" Jason said.
She yawned and leaned back into the pillow. "I'm tired, so I'm gonna
go
back to sleep."
"OK, 'Night Carly." he turned to see that she was already asleep. He
gave a
small smile and walked over to her side. He leaned down, and gently
kissed
her forehead.
Till Death Do We Part - Chapter 10: Somebody's Getting Married
Extra! Extra! Somebody's getting married!
Somebody's getting married?
HEY, somebody's getting married!
Whoa, somebody's getting married!
Somebody's getting married???
"OHHH!!!" The women exclaimed at Carly pulled out the lacy garment from
the box.
She looked around the room at the six woman and stifled a groan. This
had
to be the most pathetic excuse for a bridal shower ever.
Yep, it was Saturday night. Carly had planned on just spending the night
at
the Penthouse, but Bobbie had other ideas. She had insisted that Carly
spend the night at the Brownstone, because Carly and Jason shouldn't
see
each other before the wedding. After hours of arguing Carly had given
in.
Yet, when she showed up at the Brownstone she was in for another surprise.
A bridal shower.
Bobbie had somehow rounded up Lila, Emily, Elizabeth, Laura, Graciella
and Latecia. Possibly the only woman in Port Charles who didn't hate
her.
She knew Lila and Emily were here out of respect for Jason. Elizabeth
was
Lucy's girlfriend, and since Lucky was her cousin, she figured that's
what
brought Elizabeth there. Laura was her aunt, who she'd never met before,
but here she was. And she seemed nice enough, but her and Bobbie didn't
seem to get along. As for Graciella and Latecia? Carly had never been
more
embarrassed. They were the only woman who Carly might consider friends,
and yet here they were, watching this pitiful excuse for a party and
what was
more pitiful were these exuses for friends.
And Carly really had to wonder what the two thought. Carly and Jason
slept
in different bedrooms, and Carly figured that they knew it. Besides
that,
Carly and Jason didn't act in love in front of them. These thoughts
had never
dawned on Carly, until now.
Oh well, Carly figured. They probably knew just to go with it. After
all they
did work for a mob boss. She was interrupted from her thoughts by the
groups cheers and whistles. She looked at the lacy, short, clingy,
low cut
lingerie. Carly managed a slight smile as she said "Thank you." and
added it
to the pile of negligees that she had already gotten. 'One more, that
Jason will
never see.' Carly thought bitterly.
Somebody get some flowers
Somebody get a ring
Somebody get a chapel and a choir to sing
Somebody get an organ to play!
Cause somebody's getting married today!
Somebody get a preacher
Somebody bake a cake
Somebody get some shoes and rice
And presents to take
Somebody get a sweet negligee
Cause somebody's getting married today!
Jason inwardly groaned as he glanced around Luke's. His bachelor party.
The whole idea was absurd to him, and he had tried to talk his way
out of it,
but Justus had insisted. It made the whole scam more believable. So
Jason
went. He looked around and had to laugh. God this was pathetic.
Mike, Luke and Lucky were playing poker at a table. Justus, Ned and
Ben
were shooting darts and Ben, Renaldo and Johnny were playing pool with
him. Pool. His and Carly's game. He watched Ben take a shot and miss.
He
inwardly grinned and thoughts of Carly. 'Boy, could she whip their
butts!' he
thought.
This was pathetic, and if he didn't need to be here, he would've never
showed up. Oh well, he reasoned with himself, just think of Michael.
Michael
was his motivation.
His thoughts drifted to Carly. He wondered how she was doing. Luke had
informed him that Bobbie had a bridal party planned for her and Jason
had
just barley stifled a laugh. What in the world could they be doing?
He
wondered how Carly was handling it. He knew that she didn't really
have
female friends, he wondered who could be there.
He also sensed that she was nervous. What about he couldn't be sure.
Was
it the wedding? The honeymoon? Or the marriage? Jason had a feeling
that it
was all three.
This was easier for him, than her. He had found his one true love. He
knew
who she was, and where she was, but it was a conscious decision not
to be
with her. Her betrayal had caused their split, and Jason knew that
they were
finished for good. No matter how much he loved her, he couldn't be
with
someone he didn't trust. And, it was odd, but he didn't really miss
her. His
mind was too focused on fixing the mess she had caused.
But he knew Carly was in a different situation. She hadn't found love
yet, and
Jason realized that she was thinking about how she'd never be able
to love.
He could tell by the far away looks she got when they talked about
the
wedding, and how at the same time, pretending to be in love seemed
to
cause her both happiness and pain. Sometimes she would make comments.
About love, weddings or familles, that didn't make much sense. Than
she'd
come back to reality.
He had to feel for her. They would have to keep this charade up until
Michael was 18, or at least old enough to make a decision as to who
he
wanted to live with. That was a good 15 years away. Carly wouldn't
be able
to find her soul mate, or someone who could love her and she could
love
back as he and Robin did to each other. He couldn't help but pity her.
But he did love her. She was his best friend. She had been there through
some of his darkest hours. So he had promised himself that he'd be
there for
her. He'd support her, and try to make this marriage as easy on her
as
possible.
Somebody get champagne!
Somebody rent a room!
Somebody get the lovely bride!
And somebody get the-
Somebody get the-
Somebody, somebody, somebody
Somebody, somebody--!
"So, Carly. Where are you going for your honeymoon?" Laura asked as
she
sat next to Carly on the couch.
Everyone was mingling around and talking while they ate their cake.
Laura
had noticed that Carly was sitting off to the side, not really talking
to anyone.
It was her bridal shower, yet she seemed out of place.
Carly shifted uncomfortably and replied "Puerto Rico."
"Sounds nice." Laura said warmly. "So, are you excited?"
"I guess." Carly replied unenthusiastically and shrugged.
"You don't sound it." Laura replied gently. "Are you having second
thoughts?"
Carly glanced up at Laura and fought the urge to scream 'and third and
fourth and fifth!.' Instead she just put on a small smile and replied
"I wasn't
expecting a bridal shower."
"Why not? You're getting married, you deserve a bridal shower!"
Carly let out a short laugh and said. "I've been told I deserve a lot
of things,
but never a bridal shower." She looked down and quietly said. "I guess,
I'm
wondering why everyone's here. It certainly couldn't be because of
me!"
"Carly, everyone makes mistakes. It's up to you to correct them. And
I think
you're doing that." She paused and put on a small smile "You're getting
married. You have a baby. You're just starting a relationship with
your mom.
It's the beginning of a new, fresh start. Don't let old mistakes hold
you back.
Learn from them and move on."
Carly looked up at her and smiled, a real genuine smile. "Thank you,
that
means a lot to me." Laura smiled back and Carly continued. "So you're
married to my uncle Luke." She let out a laugh and continued. "You
must be
a woman of pure tolerance!"
It was Laura's turn to laugh, as she replied. "Love brings out qualities
in you
that you never knew you had! Trust me. You'll see!"
Carly looked down and mumbled. "Yeah, I guess I will."
Suddenly there was a knock on the door. Bobbie gave a sly smile toward
Carly and said "I'll get it."
Carly buried her face in her hands and moaned. "Oh, no. Not another
surprise!."
Laura just laid a sympathetic hand on Carly's shoulder, and slightly laughed.
"Caroline Benson?" A deep voice called out.
At the sound of her real name, Carly quickly looked up. A small gasp
escaped her lips as she saw a police officer standing in front of her.
"Yes?" she replied suspiciously
"You're under arrest...." he began but Carly cut him off.
"What, no, I was just released........" He grabbed her by the elbow
and lifted
her. He pulled out a pair of handcuffs and hitched one of her wrists.
"You're
arrested because you're getting married tomorrow and than only leaves
one
night for fun!" He continued.
She looked at him, confusion all over her face until the music began.
Than it
dawned on her. Oh, no. It couldn't be...... She thought to herself.
But when
the officer ripped his shirt off, and pulled her close, by the other
end of the
handcuffs, and began to so erotic dancing moves against her body, she
realized that it definitely could be!
Somebody get this wedding underway!
Cus sue-ones gettink marrink today!
Somebody's getting married....today!
Are they here yet, are they here yet
Did I miss it, am I late?
No, they're be here any minute!
Oh boy, me can hardly wait
Luke approached Jason, who was leaning across the bar, sipping a beer.
"So, you getting cold feet?"
Jason gave him a blank stare and replied. "No."
"Listen Jase." Luke began seriously. "Carly's my niece. Now I know we
may
not be close, but if you hurt her. I'll kill you."
"I wouldn't hurt Carly." Jason began, matching his serious tone.
Luke opened his mouth to respond, but was interrupted by Ned and Mike,
who appeared out of nowhere. Mike said "Jase, your gift is here."
"Gift?" Jason asked with a confused look on his face "You guys shouldn't
have gotten me any gifts."
"Come on." Ned said and pulled him to a chair in the middle of the room.
Jason looked down at the old wooden chair. He looked up at them with
a
puzzled look on his face. "You got me an old chair?"
They all laughed and Mike said. "No Jase, you're supposed to sit on it!"
"OK." Jason sat in the chair, and in came a woman dressed in prison
stripes
came through the door. Jason looked up at the men with a bewildered
expression.
Luke, who was trying not to laugh blurted out. "We know you have a thing
for convicts!"
The whole room erupted into laughter.
Jason stifled a groan. It was going to be a long night.
Till Death Do Us Part - Chapter 11: Girls On The Beach
Ah ah ah ah oo ooo ooo oo ahh
The girls on the beach
On the beach you'll find them there
In the sun and salty air
The girls on the beach
Are all within reach
If you know what to do
"Wow!" Carly gasped as she stared at the mansion in front of her. Her
and
Jason were in a limo, provided by Sonny. It was late Sunday night,
and they
had just arrived at Puerto Rico.
The wedding was over, and both felt a huge weight lifted off their shoulders.
Carly hated making vows, that she knew weren't true, in church. And
Jason
felt the same guilt, but both knew that their was nothing that they
could've
done.
The limo stopped in front of the mansion and the door suddenly opened.
Jason stepped out first and than helped Carly out. The bodyguards went
to
get the bags and Jason led Carly inside.
Carly's breath caught in her throat at the beautiful mansion. It was
very large
and open, which surprised her since Sonny was suppose to be in hiding.
She
looked around and saw lots of plants, flowers and trees. Carly smiled
at the
beautiful surrondings.
She heared footsteps coming down the stairs. She looked up to see a
very
dark handsome man. He had a piercing blue eyes, and he was wearing
a
black T-shirt with loose white pants. He wore a big smile as he reached
the
couple and looked toward Jason. They embraced each other in a brotherly
hug as Jason said. "I missed you."
The pulled apart and Sonny looked at Jason. "You look good."
They smiled at each other, and than Sonny caught sight of Carly. "And
this
must be your wife?"
Carly felt so tense. Sonny Corinthos. He was like a god back in Port
Charles. And now here she was. In the mobsters home. She was seeing
where he lived in hiding!!! But more importantly, he was Jason's best
friend.
Jason's thought the world of Sonny's opinion and Carly felt for sure
that he
wouldn't like her.
How could he? He placed Robin on that 10 foot high pedestal just like
everyone else. He cherished the girl, at least, that's what she had
heard. And
here she was. Port Charles liar, home wrecker, whore, who had stolen
Robin's man.
She was so nervous about meeting Sonny, that all she could manage was
a
small smile.
Jason saw she was nervous and lightly placed an arm around her tiny
waist.
"Sonny, this is Carly. Carly, this is Sonny."
Carly stretched out her hand to shake Sonny's, but he instead brought
it up
to his mouth and kissed it. "A pleasure Carly."
Carly's smile deepened. Maybe he wouldn't be judgmental after all. "It's
nice
to meet you Sonny. I've heard so much about you."
"Well, I can only hope you won't judge me on it." Sonny said with a
light
laugh.
Carly responded with a bright smile. "It's been all good."
Sonny arched his eyebrow at Jason and said. "I thought you couldn't lie."
All three laughed and Jason finally said. "OK, OK, stop flirting with
my
wife."
At the name of 'his wife' Carly looked down and slightly blushed. Out
of the
corner of her eye she caught sight of a man in a dark suit coming into
the
room. "Ahh, Juan." Sonny said. "Please show Mr. and Mrs. Morgan up
to
their rooms. It's late, and they had a long trip"
Juan slightly nodded and led Carly and Jason away. As they followed
Juan,
thoughts began to fill Carly's head. Would they share a bedroom? Carly
knew that Jason didn't expect that at home, but this was their honeymoon.
And on their honeymoon, people usually share a bedroom.
Also, Carly knew that Sonny knew about their situation, but what about
the
bodyguards, and maids and stuff? Wouldn't they find it odd that a Mr.
and
Mrs. didn't share a bedroom? Especially on their honeymoon?
Her thoughts were stopped short when Juan stopped in front of a door.
"Here you go. Your bags will be up shortly." he said and opened the
door.
"If you need anything, just ask Roseanne."
"Thank you." Jason said as he followed Carly inside the room, and Juan
shut
the door behind them. He saw she had stiffened and he followed her
gaze to
the king size bed. He slightly smiled and walked past her toward the
bathroom, he opened the door and said. "There's another door on the
other
side. It leads to another bedroom. I'll stay in there." He watched
her let out a
breath, and saw that she relaxed more. "Sonny just saw no need for
everyone else to know our situation. You know?"
"Yeah, I know." Carly replied quietly.
How we love to lie around
And one waits there for you
(Girls on the beach)
The sun in her hair On a summer day
It was early the next morning. Jason walked through the bathroom toward
Carly's room, with the intention of waking her up. He was surprised
when he
walked into her bedroom and found it completely empty.
Jason exited the room and headed down the stairs. When he reached the
bottom he headed into the livingroom. He saw Sonny sitting in a big
arm
chair, reading a newspaper. "Morning." Sonny said looking up.
"Hey, you seen Carly?" Jason asked.
Before he could answer a short, plump woman walked into the room. "Are
you looking for the skinny blond?"
"Jason, this is Roseanne." Sonny said.
"Nice to meet you." Jason said warmly. "Yes we're looking for her. Have
you seen her?"
"Yes," Roseanne replied and nodded her head toward the big doors behind
them. "Early this morning she was heading out onto the beach to take
a
swim."
Jason smiled and said. "She loves the Ocean."
"Breakfast is ready." Roseanne continued. "Would you like to eat it
outside?
On the patio?"
"Yeah. That'd be great. Thanks" Sonny said and began to lead Jason
outside.
The patio was close to the ground and there lay a short stretch of beach
before the ocean. Jason could see her clearly.
The water wasn't too high around her, and Jason could make out a tiny
black
bikini. The ends of her hair were wet. She was splashing around and
there
was a huge smile on her face. Even from far away Jason could see how
happy she was.
He glanced over to a chair, that sat at the edge of the patio. Flung
over it
was a towel and a thick terry cloth robe. As Roseanne came out and
began
placing food on the table, Jason said "I'll go get her."
He smiled at Sonny and picked up the towel and robe and headed down
the
beach. As he neared the surf, Carly looked up and caught his eye. Her
face
flushed with embarressment as she gave him a lopsided smile.
She slowly trudged through the water, back to the surf. She reached
him
breathlessly and he handed her the towel. She took it and said."Thanks."
She
began to dry her skinny body. She looked up at him thoughtfully and
asked.
"It's OK, isn't it? I mean that I went for a swim?"
Jason looked at her bewilderedly. "Why wouldn't it be OK?"
Carly slightly blushed and mumbled. "I don't know. Security reasons?"
"No, it's fine." He took the towel from her and began to help her into
the
robe. "So, did you have a good swim?"
"Oh, Jase!" she cried out happily and turned toward him, fumbling with
the
robes tie. "It felt so great. The water was cool, and the sun was warm,
and it
just felt so wonderful!" They begin trudging back to the house as she
continued. "I loved feeling free, and being able to do what I want.
With no
one watching me and questioning my actions, and do you know how long
it's
been since I've been in the ocean?"
Jason just grinned at her and replied. "I'm glad you enjoyed yourself Carly."
By this time they had reached the patio and they walked over to the
table
and sat down for breakfast.
