Till Death Do Us Part - Chapter 12: Hush

Well, got a silly little girl
She's on my mind
No doubt about it
She looks so fine
She's the best girl that I ever had
Except that she's gonna make me feel so sad

It was later in the day. Sonny and Jason sat in swim trunks on lounge chairs,
while a little ahead of them, Carly sat in the sand making a sand castle. She
wore a big white T-shirt that hung loosley off her shoulder, over her black
bikini.

"Everything is good with the orginization?" Sonny asked Jason.

"Yeah. It's fine. No problems."

"Ah, well I was just wondering." Sonny lightly scartched his chin as he
continued, "Usually you come for business arrangements."

"Yeah, I know." Jason said quietly. "It's just that we needed to go
somewhere for our honeymoon. Otherwise it would've looked strange.
Besides, I missed you, and I just figured that it was time for a visit."

"It's a pretty complex situation you've gotten yourself into." Sonny noted
seriously, as memories came flooding back to him. "Married for a child."

Jason looked at him solemnly. "It's not like Lilly. Carly knows the score." he
thoughtfully added. "Besides, since that incident with Robin at Lukes, I've
been extra carefull."

"Carefull is good." Sonny replied, and after a pause asked. "Have you seen
Robin? You must miss her."

Jason's facial features turned cold as he replied. "She's in Paris. And we're
over. No point in looking back. She betrayed me. Something I'll never
forget, and I can't forgive it."

Sonny just nodded as flashbacks of Brenda and the wire and Lilly being
blown up filled his head. He shook his head, in a pathetic attempt to banish
the memories. He nodded her head at Carly and said. "She seems nice."

"Yeah, she is." He looked over at her and slightly chuckled. "God, I've never
seen a person have so much fun at the beach. Not even Michael."

Sonny laughed along with him and watched her. "Yeah, she does seem to be
enjoying herself." He looked for the right words as he concluded. "She
seemes very........vibrant."

"Yeah, well she's not boring." Jason said seriously. "She grew up near the
beach in Florida. I guess after being locked up, she just really missed it."

"Yeah, that's understandable." Sonny said nodding his head. "You two seem
to get along."

"She's a great friend." Jason said.

Carly was sitting on the sand making her castle. She loved how the warm
sand felt against her skin, and the hot sun beating down on her back. Carly
was loving ever second of being in Puerto Rico. She was so happy that she
hadn't fought coming on this honeymoon.

OK, it wasn't really a honeymoon. But she loved it. She liked spending time
with Jason, despite how awkward it felt. She tried to ignore all of those
feelings. After all, they were friends. The best of friends. There was no need
to feel awkward.

Sonny seemed really nice. She was very happy to know that he didn't plan
on hating her due to the whole Jason/Robin/Michael thing. He seemed
pleasent enough, and he certainly was funny and charming.

And the house. If she had to pick a house to die in, this would be it. Carly
loved how open it was, and all the greenery. That on top of the fact that the
backyard was the beach and ocean, made it Carly's dream home. It
reminded her of Florida, and Carly found herself doing all the things she use
to do back home.

She use to love taking early morning swims. It was the only thing that could
have dragged her from her bed on some mornings. There was something
about watching the sunrise from the water that was too magical for words.
Carly always use to build sand castles. She remembered how when she was
12, she had won a contest for the best sand sculpture.

The beach use to be Carly's getaway. Sometimes, late at night, if thing got
really rough, Carly would head out to the beach. A midnight swim, or
focusing all her attention on building a castle, or sometimes, just a long walk
on the sand, would always make things seem easier.

Thinking so much about Florida and her old life made Carly grow sad for a
moment. She examened her sand castle. It was alright, but kinda plain.
Nothing like the ones she use to make. She began to trace designs onto the
side of the castle.

She suddenly looked up and saw that Jason and Sonny were watching her.
Her cheeks grew slightly red. She looked back at her castle and decided that
she'd build a better one later. She stood up and brushed the sand from her
hands and made her way toward the men.

"Hey, she said as she approached them, and perched herself at the edge of
Jason's chair.

"Hey" the men replied."Nice castle." Sonny said with a smile.

Carly smiled back and said. "Yeah? Thanks." She looked back at it and
said. "I've done better, but it's been a while."

Carly was jerked out of her thoughts by Jason's slight laugh. "What's so
funny?"

He was stlll slightly laughing as he said. "You are Carly. You've got sand on
your face."

He reached over and wiped some sand from her cheek.

"Oh, Thanks." she said with an embaressed smile. She looked up at him and
slightly gasped. "Jase, your shoulders are getting red. Did you put any
sunscreen on?"

Jason looked down at his shoulders and said. "No, I didn't think I needed
any."

Carly gave him a stern look and asked. "Do you know how bad it feels to be
sun burned?" She reached over to the same table that was in between the
two chairs and got the sunscreen. She got up and moved to sit behind him.
"Well, you're lucky I noticed before it got too bad." She squeezed some
sunscreen onto her hands and began rubbing his back and shoulders. While
rubbing she looked at Sonny. "You need some?"

"No, I'm fine." he said. "So guys, how about later tonight, I take you to my
hotel? We'll eat in the best resteraunt, and mabe do some gambling?"

"Sounds cool." Jason replied.

"Oh, I would love to see your hotel!" Carly exclaimed.

"OK, it's settled than." Sonny said with a smile.

Hey now, hush, hush
I thought I heard you calling my name now
Hush, hush, you broke my heart but now that's a dream now
Hush, hush, I thought I heard you calling my name now
Hush, hush, you broke my heart but now that's a dream now

Early in the morning
Or late in the evening
Oh, gotta believe me, honey
Oh, I never was a dreaming

Sonny, Jason and Carly walked into the casino. They had just finished
dinner. Sonny and Jason both wore dark suits. Carly looked stunning. She
was wearing a red velvet pants outfit. It had a halter top, and the legs flaired,
it was a one-piece. Carly had half her hair, pulled into a loose bun in the
center of her head, while they rest was blown straight.

They had left the guards at the door. The casino was on the second floor.
Carly looked around and smiled at the breathtaking surroundings. Everyone
was so alive, and vivacious. It was quite a change from the mental institution.

Carly brought out of her thoughts by Jason's voice. "Carly? Do you mind if I
go somewhere with Sonny for a few minutes?"

Carly thought about it for a second. To be truthfull, she was a drop taken
back by the lively surroundings, since she wasn't use to them. But she just
nodded her head and said. "Yeah, sure."

Jason gave her a worried look when he saw a look of doubt cross her eyes,
but nodded when he saw it leave. He handed her a fifty, for the gambling and
said. "I'll be right back, k?"

Carly nodded as the men left. She looked around and spotted some large
doors leading out toward a balcony. She decided some fresh air would do
her good. She walked toward the doors and stepped outside.

Carly was extremely pleased to find herself alone. Mmmm, she took a deep
breath of fresh air and surveyed her surroundings. The balcony was quite
large. The walls were bricks. Their were flowers, and vines on the wall.
Carly walked toward the railing and leaned on it. The sky was dark, but the
lights from the hotel, lit up the balcony. Se looked out towards the water.

She began to think of all the days previous events. God, how she loved the
beach, and to her surprise Jason and Sonny turned into really good
company. Carly was even happier when she learned that they would be
going somewhere nice for dinner. She had bought some nice outfits before
they had left, and the red velvet one-piece was her favorite. She loved
wearing it, and all the stares she got. Although, she knew that some of those
stares were due to the fact that she was walking with two dangerously
handsome men and being followed by guards.

Dinner had been nice enough. The food was really good, and Carly had
gobbled it all up. She had noticed Jason's relieved smile, and Sonny's
surprised look at how much she had eaten. She knew Jason worried, since
she hadn't gained a lot of weight back. Carly chalked it all up to metabolism.
She realized she must have boosted her metabolism with all the excretes she
had done at Ferncliff, and when Carly had returned home, she had
discovered the great gym in the basement. Jason tried to discourage her from
doing so much excursus, but she liked it. It was her way of working off all
the extra energy she always seemed to have.

Carly was so absorbed in her thoughts that she never heard the man
approaching.

"Beautiful night."

Carly jumped at the deep voice and turned to see a tall, muscular dark man.
He was ruggishly handsome, but something in his eyes gave her the creeps.

Carly just slightly smiled at the man held out a hand and said. "Christopher
Travers."

Carly gave him a small glare. She walked a few steps away and continued to
look out, but she felt her body stiffen as the man slid up to her again. She felt
his hand slide up and down her bare arm, sending shivers up Carly's spine.
"Don't I get to know your name?"

Carly pulled away from his reach and said angrily. "Listen, I came out here
for some solitude. So, if you don't mind."

He slightly laughed at her and reached out and grabbed her face. "Oh, I love
it when they put up a fight."

Carly's eyes widened as she realized that she was in real trouble.

Hush, hush, I thought I heard you calling my name now
Hush, hush, you broke my heart but now that's a dream now

Till Death Do Us Part - Chapter 13: Hero

There's a hero
If you look inside your heart
You don't have to be afraid
Of what you are
There's an answer
If you reach into your soul
And the sorrow that you know
Will melt away

"My husband is right inside." Carly said fearfully

"Than we better make this quick." The man said strongly, as he grabbed her
by the arm and pulled her close.

Carly gasped as a response to the pain that she felt due to his tight grip.
Carly did the only thing she could think of. She reached out and dug her nails
into his face. The man reached for his face in shock and Carly tried to make
a run for it, but the man quickly grabbed her again. He back handedly
slapped her hard on her face and she nearly collapsed, but the man held onto
her and pulled her really close.

"You're gonna pay for that." He whispered in a mean, dangerous voice as he
reached behind her and yanked the zipper of her outfit down. Carly tried to
struggle against him, but he was much to strong.

He pushed her up against the wall, as she continually tried to fight him. Carly
felt the sharp bricks digging into her back, and it only worsened the more she
fought. She felt deep scratched beginning to develop, and she thought she felt
blood trickling down her back. As the man begin to nuzzle her neck, Carly
said a silent prayer for Jason.

And then a hero comes along
With the strength to carry on
And you cast your fears aside
And you know you can survive
So when you feel like hope is gone
Look inside you and be strong
And you'll finally see the truth
That a hero lies in you

Jason and Sonny walked through the crowd looking for Carly. "I don't see
her." Sonny said.

They approached the guard who was stationed at the front of the casino.
"Have you seen Carly?" Jason asked.

The guard nodded and said. "Last time I saw her, she was heading out onto
the balcony."

Jason and Sonny nodded and began to head toward the balcony. As they
reached the doors, they heard Carly's frightened voice. "Please let me go."

The fear and desperation was obvious in her voice and the men exchanged
frightened glances as they burst throughout the doors, and barged right into a
scene straight from hell.

Carly was backed up against the wall, and the large man had her hands
pinned above her head, with one hand. The other hand was wrapped around
her, reaching under the back of her outfit while he nuzzled her neck. At the
sound of the two men Carly lifted her tear stained face and breathed a sigh of
relief. The man brought his head up from her neck and looked angrily toward
the two men. "If you don't mind, this is a private party."

Jason's anger soared as he rushed over to them and pulled the man off Carly.
"I swear to you, I'll kill you." Jason began but was stopped by Sonny, who
grabbed the guy.

Carly watched in amazement as, out of nowhere, two guards appeared.
Sonny pushed the man into the guards arms "Take him outside and teach him
a lesson." Sonny demanded and than looked at the man. "Don't ever, EVER,
come back to this hotel."

With that the men dragged the guy away. Jason turned toward Carly and
gently cupped her face and asked softly. "Carly? Carly, are you OK?"

Carly stared at him for a second, until sobs over came her body and she
flung herself into Jason's arms. She sobbed into his broad chest, and tightly
held on to him, in fear that she'd collapse if she didn't.

Jason gladly accepted her into his arms. He noticed Sonny staring down at
Carly's back with a sickened look. Jason looked down and took in a quick
deep breath. The zipper of Carly's outfit was pulled all the way down,
revealing the top of her underwear. All up and down her bare back were
deep scratches that had blood dripping from them.

Jason shut his eyes in disgust and than took another deep breath. He slowly
opened his eyes and let his hands travel down her back to her zipper. He
slowly zipped up the outfit. He brought his hands back up to her head and
began to smooth her hair. Jason was shocked to feel how violently she was
shaking in his arms. "Carly....."

"Please take me away from here." She whispered desperately into his strong
chest. "Please."

"OK, OK Carly. We're going." Jason said gently as he led her away.

It's a long road
When you face the world alone
No one reaches out a hand
For you to hold
You can find love
If you search within yourself
And the emptiness you felt
Will disappear

Carly sat in the large, overstuffed arm chair, in her room, facing the window.
She was wearing a thick white terry cloth robe, and her hair was still damp
from her shower. She was curled up into a tiny ball. She was looking out
onto the ocean, yet she saw nothing.

Her face hurt from where she had been slapped. Her arm was slightly sore
from how he had grabbed her. Her whole back was scratched up and it
stung really bad. Carly had, hated how the water had felt, pelting against her
sore back, yet she couldn't seem to get clean enough.

She kept smelling that sent. It was like a cheap cologne. And she kept feeling
his hands touching her. Pulling her zipper down. His mouth, pressed against
her neck. Just thinking about it caused Carly to shudder.

Jason gently opened the door and peaked his head in. When he saw her
curled up in the chair, his sad expression deepened as he fully entered the
room. He watched her tremble and he softly called. "Carly?"

She lightly jumped as she swung her head around. Her body relaxed when
she saw it was Jason. Her eyes were wide with fright and they were glassy,
as though there were tears right behind them waiting to fall.

He walked toward the night table, next to the bed and set the tray that he
had been holding onto it. The trey held medication tubes, a bowl of warm
water, some cotton, bandages, a cold compress and some other medical
items.

"How do you feel?" Jason asked softly, carefully observing her.

She slightly lowered her head and shrugged her shoulders. "I'm OK."

Jason watched her squirm under his careful eye, and knew that she was
anything but OK. He took a deep breath and said. "OK, well, I have the
stuff here to take care of you so come over here, k?"

Carly, still avoiding his eyes said quietly. "I'm really OK, Jase. Honestly. You
don't need to take care of me."

Jason slightly shook his head. They both knew she wasn't' OK. She was
obviously still shaken up, and the scars on her back were definitely bad, and
there was a pretty bad bruise forming on her face. He thought back to the
discussion earlier in the limo.

Carly had refused to remove her face from Jason's chest throughout the
whole ride. Sonny and Jason could see that her back was really badly
damaged, and they didn't really know what else was hurt. Plus she was
obviously in shock. Sonny had suggested visiting a doctor, that lived close
by, but Carly had said no. She stated that she was fine, and she didn't need
to be examined. She had said that she just wanted to be left alone. She finally
agreed to let Jason, and only Jason, look at her.

He decided reasoning with her might be best. "Carly, please. You wouldn't
let us get a doctor. Just let me clean up the scrapes and put a bandage on it."

Carly reluctantly stood and walked over to the bed. As she sat on the edge
she mumbled. "I didn't want you to call a doctor because I'm not sick."

"No, but you're hurt." Jason countered, he kneeled in front of her and said
"Lets look at your face first."

Carly slightly rolled her eyes as Jason put his hand under her chin, and lifted
her face upwards toward the light. He carefully inspected her swollen cheek.
It wasn't too bad, but no make up would hide it. He let out an angry sigh as
he reached for the cold compress. He gently pressed it to her face. As the
cool surface touched her tender skin, she flinched and tried to pull away, but
Jason held it on her face, until the shock died out. As she got use to it, Carly
leaned forward again, and Jason used his free hand to brush some hair out of
her face. After a few seconds he took Carly's hand and placed it on the
compress, and told her to hold it on her face.

He got up and went to sit behind her. Carly hesitantly shrugged out of her
robe, bearing her back to him. She clutched the robe in front of her, although
no one could see her.

Jason fought the rage that was flaming inside of him. He wanted more than
anything to kill the monster who did this to Carly. The scratches were all
over and deep. Despite the shower, her back was still bleeding pretty bad.
Jason looked at the robe and saw that the blood had soaked through the
material.

Taking a deep breath he reached over and retrieved the wash cloth. He
dipped it into the warm water and brought it to her back. As the material
touched her battered skin, Carly winced and arched her back. Jason waited
a second and than proceeded to clean the cuts as gently as he could. "Carly,
I really wish you'd let a doctor look at this."

Carly violently shook her head and replied. "No, Jase. I'm fine really I am."

Jason shook his head and muttered "No, you're not." He reached over and
began applying some medication. "Sonny said this should prevent infection,
and make it heal faster."

All he got was a slight nod from her. He finished applying the medication and
than bandaged her up. "There, all done."

"Thanks." She whispered

Jason began loading everything back on the tray, as Carly put her robe back
on. After a few seconds, Carly whispered. "I'm sorry."

Jason stopped what he was doing and turned to her. Before he could say
anything, she continued, as tears began to spill down her cheeks. "I'm sorry,
if I embarrassed you in front of Sonny. I know how much he means to you.
Now he sees what trash you married." She hung her head as sobs began to
rack her body.

Jason gave her a sad look as he put the trey down and sat next to her. "I'm
not embarrassed, and neither should you be. It's not your fault. The guy was
a jerk. He saw a pretty lady." He gave her a small smile, and lightly wiped
away a tear. "And he decided that he had a right to touch you." He looked at
her and saw that she was still crying. Her wrapped his arms around her and
quietly added. "But he didn't Carly. He had no right to touch you."

"Why does this keeping happening?" she cried desperately into his arms.
"What's wrong with me? It's just like that time at Jake's."

"Shhhh." Jason said in a soothing voice, smoothing her hair. "It's not you,
Carly. There is nothing wrong with you. You just had some bad luck, OK?
You can't blame yourself for other peoples actions." He looked down and
saw that she had stopped crying. "Do you feel better?"

Jason felt her slightly shrug as she quietly replied. "A little."

"Do you want to go to sleep?" He asked, looking down at her, and pushing
some wet hair out of her face.

"I don't want to be alone." She mumbled coyly

He smiled at her and said. "I'll stay with you, Carly."

He leaned back into the pillows and opened his arms. Carly gladly moved
over to him, and rested her head on Jason's broad chest. He closed his arms
around her and held her close.

Carly could hear the sound of his heart beating, and she found it calming. She
took deep breaths, trying to relax. Being in his arms made her feel safe. It
was all the security she needed to help bring her to a deep sleep.

Jason was so angry at the guy who had done this to her. He would've ripped
him to shreds if Carly hadn't needed him. He felt so bad for Carly. He hated
seeing her like this. So scared and frightened. It wasn't very Carly like. He
was just happy that he had gotten there in time.

He was pulled from his thoughts by Carly's deep breathing. She was asleep.
Jason was happy, because he feared that she wouldn't be able to rest
tonight. He smiled down at her and held her closer.

Looking at her, so peaceful and content in his arms, Jason made a silent vow
that he would never let her be hurt again.

And then a hero comes along
With the strength to carry on
And you cast your fears aside
And you know you can survive
So when you feel like hope is gone
Look inside you and be strong
And you'll finally see the truth
That a hero lies in you

Lord knows
Dreams are hard to follow
But don't let anyone
Tear them away
Hold on
There will be tomorrow
In time
You'll find the way

And then a hero comes along
With the strength to carry on
And you cast your fears aside
And you know you can survive
So when you feel like hope is gone
Look inside you and be strong
And you'll finally see the truth
That a hero lies in you
