March 2

Tom and Margo share a warm moment at the church before Parker's christening, but it's broken when Margo hears Tom discussing Emily with Susan, mentioning that he's hired detectives to find Emily. Susan doesn't appreciate Margo's attitude, and Margo apologizes. Later, she and Tom remember Casey and Adam's christenings, sad about their separation but still hopeful. Emily, imprisoned in her cell, asks an unseen David what he wants of her, pleads with him to release her and her baby. She dreams that Tom rescues her, declaring his love for her and the baby. Getting more and more hysterical, Emily feels a twinge that may be the beginning of labor.

Katie tells Eddie she left the house so Tom and Margo could work out their problems, and asks to spend the night with Eddie. Tom tries to convince Margo he won't be overly involved with Emily or the baby. Margo wavers, especially when Adam pleads for them to consider him and Casey before doing anything. Agreeing not to sign the separation agreement, Margo also consents to counseling.

March 22

Margo talks with Andy about her concerns about going into counseling with Tom. Andy encourages her to believe her marriage is worth saving, and she admits she still loves Tom. Emily escapes from her captor, but he finds her and, as she pleads for her life and that of her baby, prepares to shoot.

March 23

Terrified Emily struggles with her captor, knocks him down and takes his gun, and then runs off. Meanwhile, Tom's on his way to his counseling session with Margo when Susan arrives, revealing that Emily's cashed a check for $100,000. Tom cancels the session, and he and Susan try to figure out if this means Emily's trying to pay her own ransom. Margo calls Tom, finds out why he canceled the session--Emily--and hangs up on him in anger. Emily staggers in and tells Tom everything that happened, claiming it was David who kidnapped her. Tom calls Hal, and then he and Emily go to the warehouse. They find her captor... dead.

March 24

At the warehouse, Emily realizes the dead man wasn't David, and wonders how he could have died, when she didn't even aim the gun at him. Margo arrives with the other cops, and sees Tom comforting Emily. Angry, Margo doesn't believe Emily's kidnapping story. Tom defends Emily, angering Margo further. Susan reunites with Emily and wants to take her to the hospital. Margo insists that after that, Emily's going down to the police station--the shooting may not have been accidental.

March 26

Emily's brought in to interrogation, and asks for Tom to represent her as an attorney. He declines, and she says maybe he'll change his mind once she gives her statement. She reveals she was kidnapped by a man who let her think he was David. Hal and Margo want her to be evaluated by a psychologist. Reid, meanwhile, tries in vain to get in touch with Emily's captor. Frustrated and concerned that something's gone wrong with his kidnapping plan, he later receives a request for a suspect evaluation from the police. To his astonishment, the suspect Reid needs to evaluate is... Emily.

March 29

Tom decides to defend Emily, upsetting Margo. She cancels their marriage counseling session, saying there's no point as long as Tom's defending his lover in court. When she heads to Oasis, Eddie sees her distress and--though she wants to drink--he takes her home. Reid covers his shock at seeing Emily. As Tom and Susan defend Emily's story to a skeptical Hal, Reid talks with Emily about her captivity. He's glad to hear she isn't sure about who imprisoned her. Reid emerges and maliciously tells Hal that Emily's not only competent to stand trial--but is probably lying to cover up the killing.

March 30

Katie's disheartened when Eddie breaks their dinner date. Angry at Margo, she accuses her of stealing her boyfriend... just like she took her dad away from her. Margo explains that she and Eddie are just friends, and hints that maybe Eddie doesn't share Katie's feelings. Emily attacks Reid for claiming her story is false, but this only furthers Reid's goal to prove Emily's violent tendencies. Hal finds evidence proving her captor cashed Emily's check, and arrests her for murder. Susan asks that she be given a full ob/gyn exam before heading to jail. Emily pours her heart out to her mother, and is greatly relieved when Susan believes her story. Then, claiming that her baby isn't moving, Emily begs for Susan to get help. When Hal and Susan return, they find that Emily has escaped.

March 31

Tom visits Holden and Lily about Emily's claims at having been kidnapped. Holden doesn't reveal David is dead. Susan admits to Tom that she fears Emily faked the kidnapping. Tom defends Emily. Margo overhears this and is very hurt. She runs into Ben, and talks with him about moving on with their lives. Learning that Ben is moving on with Denise, Margo gets a new confidence. Margo breezily tells Tom to do whatever he thinks is right about Emily. Tom's taken aback by her demeanor, but concentrates on Emily's whereabouts. Remembering last year's Endicott Awards, Tom tells Susan that he thinks Emily's in New York. And he plans to find her.
