April 1

In New York, Tom arrives at the hotel where the Endicott Awards are held. He gets a call from Emily, who won't reveal her whereabouts. Tom gets the idea to talk to a reporter on TV, pleading that Emily call him and turn herself in. Emily watches in a motel room, torn. Hal tells Margo he and Barbara are getting married, trying to encourage Margo to believe she and Tom can get together again too. Margo calls Tom's cell phone, but Tom is distracted by Emily, who shows up in person at the hotel ballroom. Hanging up on Margo, he embraces Emily.

April 2

Margo fumes when she realizes Tom has hung up on her due to Emily. Hal wants to know what's going on, and guesses Emily must have shown up with Tom. He wonders if Tom planned the escape. Margo asks him not to jump to conclusions, but Hal can't promise her that he won't arrest Tom for aiding and abetting. Regretfully, Margo tells Hal where Tom is. Emily begs Tom to believe that she's telling the truth about her kidnapping and asks him to hide her from David. Tom says he can't, but promises to protect her. In her hotel room, Tom plans to call Hal to let him know Emily's on her way. But police barge in and arrest Emily.

April 5

The next morning, Tom and Emily are returned to Oakdale's police station. Tom's upset to learn Margo turned him in, and claims that she didn't do it because she's a cop--she just wanted to get back at him for Emily. Furious, he lays into Hal as well, and finally Hal arrests him too. Margo visits him in his cell, but he tells her she had no faith in him--just back off.

Alec arrives in Oakdale, looking for Eddie at the Oasis--right when a group of ladies (organized by Sara Ruth) are protesting the club. Denise takes on Sara Ruth, who's obviously there to cause trouble for Denise. Alec enjoys the publicity, but Katie calls Margo to help get rid of the crowd. Nancy is one of the protesters, and enjoys both the music and Denise's dancing. Margo arrives and quiets things down, and Alec is impressed with her. He asks her out, but she refuses. Margo visits Tom in jail, and tells him that Casey is having trouble at school. They agree to deal with their kids together. Hal releases Tom, but he refuses to leave before Emily's out on bail. He visits Emily, who's worried about her baby's health, and comforts her. Emily doesn't want to go home with Susan, afraid of endangering them. Tom bails Emily out and, to Margo's dismay, lets her stay with him at the Lakeview. Margo calls Alec and agrees to go out with him.

April 15

Adam is upset to see Margo preparing to go out with Alec. Adam presses Margo to cut Tom some slack, but she blurts out that Emily's living with Tom now. Margo learns from Camille that Alec donated to the clinic. On the date, Margo tries to learn more about Alec, but he gets a business call and has to take a rain check. At Tom's place, Tom and Emily talk about their affair, and Emily admits she's only got herself to blame for the mess she's in now. Adam arrives and tells him that Margo's on a date. Tom knows he can't leave frightened Emily alone, and can't follow Adam when he leaves. His worries are sidetracked when Emily's baby kicks for the first time.

At the Oasis, Alec asks about Margo's life as a cop, getting her to tell of having killed Eddie's mother, and of Eddie's tough childhood. Margo wonders why he's interrogating her, but he apologizes. He drives her to the courthouse, where they see Tom and Emily. Margo gives the D.A. evidence that Emily murdered her kidnapper, and is pressed to take the stand. Tom is grim, and Emily is alarmed, as they wait for Margo to testify.

April 23

Margo testifies that she possesses a computer file of payments that the victim received from Emily. After this damaging testimony, Margo tries to apologize to Tom, but he won't listen. Tom knows the only way to undo the damage is to destroy Margo's credibility. He grills Margo about her relationship with Eddie and her obvious bias against Emily. Adam watches his parents, dismayed.

April 26

Shaken after her testimony, Margo is comforted by Adam and Alec. She shows Alec the rooftop, where she reminisces about how important it was to her and Tom. Saying goodbye to her marriage, Margo accepts Alec's offer to go out. On the stand, Emily admits to everything she's done to break up Tom's marriage, but denies being a murderer. After the jury goes into deliberations, Tom calls home and speaks to an angry Adam, who proclaims that Tom's not his father. Tom's about to leave for home when Emily goes into labor.

April 27

Emily is brought to the delivery room, frantic and asking for Tom to be with her throughout labor. Tom agrees to be her partner, and together they welcome a healthy baby boy into the world. At Alec's hotel room, Margo drinks champagne and tries to forget Tom and Emily. But though she and Alec have chemistry together, she can't go further than just talking. They discuss her relationship with Eddie, and she tells Alec how smart Eddie was to keep things from going too far. Their conversation is interrupted by a phone call--Emily's verdict is in.

April 28

Tom and Emily rejoice over their new son. Margo interrupts them and tells them that the jury's reached a verdict. Tom apologizes to her about grilling her in court. Together they worry about how Adam is taking everything. Later, Margo goes home to comfort Adam as Tom reassures Emily that whatever the verdict is, he'll help her through it.

April 29

Margo's about to leave for court when Hal arrives, having been called by Adam. Adam reveals that he wants Hal to be his legal father, since Tom's no longer a part of their family. Hal and Margo try to dissuade him but Adam remains firm. Margo and Hal head to the court house. Waiting for the judge to enter, Emily tells Tom that she wants to name the baby after him. He declines the honor, since it'd hurt Adam and Casey. To their horror, the jury returns a guilty verdict. Emily tearfully proclaims her innocence and kisses her baby goodbye, giving him to Tom as Margo watches.
