4/4/02 4:15pmOH MY GOD....I'm finally updating the page!! It's almost been 2 freekin' years! Well, in any case, cyberball is STARTING UP AGAIN. This time, it's in the form of some software called Kaillera. It allows you to play all the MAME games online. More and more cyberball freaks are finding out how to do this and playing ONLINE. There are some caveats tho; you need to have a relatively fast computer(at least ~500mhz) and a Broadband connection helps. I tried dialup and I just couldn't do it...:( Check it out, you won't regret it...

Ken Lima has taken the helm of this new cyberball online stuff and has really taken it up a notch by updating his new cyberball website. He even has a singles and doubles ladder you can compete in if you are interested! Much props to Ken for helping the cyberball community get online.

There is a cyberball tourney going on this weekend in Alabama. If you want to know more, check out Ken's website. Oh, he also has tips on how to get Kaillera ALL set up.

If you want to get in touch with me via chat, you my AOL and YAHOO Messenger handles are cyberball38. Feel free to drop a line...

Finally, SCREW you Justin, Scott, Landon, and Kenn, for getting me addicted to this damn game AGAIN!! :)

10/25/00 11:19am - Sorry, been lazy and busy..but I figure it's time to do something! In any case, I'll be changing jobs soon, so as soon as I get my new email, I'll let you guys know...

Emilwanbranobi emailed me BUNCH of new tips/tricks. I'll post 'em soon as I can.

I HEARD from someone who emailed me(sorry, can't find the email right now) that there WILL be a new cyberball coming out in the arcades. It's supposed to be an upgrade and have more "blitz"like qualities...I'll believe it when I see it...;)

Oh yah, if any of you guys are interested in playing some real hardcore cyberball players in L.A., email me, I got some hookups for ya...

Finally, there are a few posts on the "MAILDROP" about cybes for sale. ALL you guys who email me about ones for sale, there you go!

8/7/00 4:21pmPST - Added a new trick to the tips page. I haven't tried this one, but I have heard of it. Thanks MastoDis!

Lee emailed me this morning that he played against and with John Salwitz, creator of cyberball...And yes he is as good as you would think he would be...;)

I know this isn't related to cyberball, but if anyone has a used Gauntlet Legends for Dreamcast(no burns please), please email me!

7/20/00 8:34amPST - Hey guys, some real cyberball news today....One of my buddies I met via the web is going to try and make his own daughtercard in order to upgrade regular cyberballs to tourneys...If he's successful, I'll be sure to let you know...Good Luck Dennis!

Hopefully, I'll get the "Tournament Cyberball Playbook" in .pdf format soon. Thanks to Dennis!(again!)

Have another contact who is selling a bunch of cyberball stuff. I have gotten out of him that at least he has 2 control panels with atari sticks and a daughterboard for cyberball. If anyone's interested, let me know.

7/17/00 12:58pmPST - Ok, Ok, I know there haven't been any updates in a while, but honestly there wasn't too much to say. Let's see if I can come up with anything...;)

Went to San Jose's arcade auction on Saturday, and they had a 4 player Tourney on auction. It was in a jacked up Nintendo vs cabinet(the big one) but it went cheap at $175.

Some dude is selling a table top version of Cyberball...too bad there aren't any pics of that! Here is the link
.
Derek K. and his buddies got a cyberbal machine for their office! Even better is that they work right next to me! Once they get the rust off, I think we need to go play a few games.

If any of you are into the emulation scene and have a hard time getting a good resolution for cyberball, you should try advanceMAME. I use it now, and it fixed that problem right up! Find out more here.

Someone is selling a Tourney Cybes. If you are interested, check out "The Maildrop".

BigDog, are you happy? ;)

Rodney Y, send me an email, I don't have your email address anymore!

2/10/00 10:43amPST - Well, we had a pretty big cyberball superbowl last weekend. We had Dave, Mike, James, Ken, and Ray join us for some cyberball, street fighter, and by fluke, Kung fu movies...;)

So when are we going to play again?

Looks like I am going to moving to another job in a few weeks, so keep your eyes open for my new email address

Been noticing alot more cybes for sale on Ebay. The machines are going a bit cheaper, but still as 1989 games go, a bit on the high side.

1/21/00 8:30amPST - Added a GREAT tip from Brandon to the tips page. Thanks Brandon! Hawaii represent!!

1/20/00 8:03amPST - Just added another tip from Rod to the tips page. Thanks Rod!

I think something is wrong with my left monitor...:( Anyone in the San Jose/ Santa Clara do cap kits for cheap?

1/14/00 4:12pmPST - Sorry for the lack of updates, I was in Sunny Hawaii for a few weeks...DID play some cybes to! Hawaiian Brian's still has one(screwed up sticks) and Kaimuki Cue still has one too.

Got a couple of people itchin' to play again...:) We'll hook it up in a few weeks, I can't wait!

12/2/99 1:41pmPST - Rich emailed me a bunch of tips and I've posted them on the site. They are really GOOD, so if you are just starting, read it, learn it, live it! Thanks Rich...are you sure you didn't give away too much? :)

Rich also gave me info on some arcade places with Cybes. Mostly in Southern CA.

Nothing else really, my Cyberball machine is gathering dust...:(

11/19/99 5:09pmPST - I can't believe a non working Tourney cyberball WITHOUT soundboard went for $80 on Ebay!!

10/4/99 12:31pmPST - Sorry for the lack of updates, but seriously, there hasn't been much going on recently! I did play Martin, Chico, and Ray the other week though...good to get the rust off...

Added a new tip to the tip page!

Albert, where are you???

9/16/99 8:17amPST - Added yet another 4 player Tournament Cyberball machine for sale. It's at the FOR SALE link.

9/7/99 9:02amPST - Paul and Dave came on down to my little one bedroom place to give my cyberball machine some breakin' in. We played for about 4 hours! Thanks guys, I had a blast!

Hey Paul, I think I have carpal tunnel too! :)

8/30/99 2:30pmPST - Not much going on, but I was hoping to bid on a Tournament cyberball PCB set on Ebay, but it got out of hand, it went for $330!! And that was just for the boards and overlay and not guaranteed to work! I hope it was worth it!

8/17/999:26amPST - Someone selling NOS cyberball overlay/marquee/sideart/etc for cyberball? Yup! Check it out on the FOR SALE link!

Side note, I'm working on a supergun, anyone out there have those big buttons used in the MAIN EVENT? Kinda hard to do submission moves with those tiny buttons. Email me here if you got any of them for sale!

8/12/998:12amPST - Check the FOR SALE link for a cab I found for sale, and there's a new cyberball tip, courtesy of Dan Scheraga!

Check the ebay link on the FOR SALE page for a cyberball cab being auctioned off at $200!

8/2/992:11pmPST - Got an email from jng305 saying that there's a place that has a cyberball! Posted it on the Arcades with cyberball link.

Lots of cyberball boards for auction on ebay recently. 2 4 player sets just went yesterday at fifty something dollars. I forgot to follow that one!

7/23/992:11pmPST - Alex just wrote me today saying that his cyberball machine's LEDs were not working either but when he changed fuses at F2 and F3 it worked! I guess people do read these posts!

7/19/99 9:03mPST - Hiya guys, sorry for the lack of updates, but I've been busy moving into my new place and getting used to being married. Anyways, back to the cyberball stuff...

This weekend, I tried to fix my cyberball soundboard, and what ended up happening was smoke, light, and broken fuses...:) In the mayhem, I think I also blew out one of my speakers cause now it sounds a bit distorted at times. Oh well, at least this was on my "backup" cyberball board. I can tell you one thing though, if you don't get 3 LEDs on the soundboard, make sure to check out F2 and F3's fuses and make sure they aren't burned out. Happened to me, and it took me a while to figure that one out. Thank god for the schematics!

Some guy is trying to unload a 4 player Tournament version for $1000 or best offer. Check the FOR SALE link for more info.

Saw a 4 player Tournament version for sale on Ebay. Just the PCB's though, and untested ta boot...

Anyone out there good with electronic hardware? Willing to fix my soundboard? If so, let me know! I know there can't be too much wrong with the board since it *almost* works!

7/8/99 9:46pmPST - Anyone out there got a cyberball sound board for sale? Or knows how to repair one? The sound works on the left side, but the right side just hums...loudly...And I think the self test switch doesn't work either. Any leads would be much appreciated! Just email me!

7/2/99 9:25pmPST - Got an email from Chad, he informed me of another Cyberball at an arcade in Nebraska. Check the ARCADES W/CYBERBALL link.

Ok, rather than killing myself over and over writing on how a new cyberball thing is for sale on Ebay, I'm just going to make a link to the cyberball stuff for sale. BTW, check it out, there are a few good ones for sale...I might even bid!

Got an email from Mark, Mark thinks that upgrading players at the end of periods is OK. I strongly disagree. What do you think? Email me if you have an opinion!

6/28/99 2:57pmPST - Updated the FOR SALE link with some cabs for sale and also added another way someone moved their cyberball cab up the stairs(in the MOVE IT section).

Looks like we might have another Cyberball game coming up soon! John Salwitz is *always* invited! We're in the Bay Area, too John!

6/28/99 11:05amPST - If you were wondering why there weren't any updates for about 2 weeks, it was cause I was getting married! But now I'm back, and I have a bunch of new stuff to add in the next few days. Check back soon!

Cyberball has to be the best game ever created. Cyberball is best when played with 2 or more players. Cyberball was created by John Salwitz, back when he worked for Atari. Cyberball was created in 1988 and Tournament Cyberball was released a year later. Will they come out with an updated version of Cyberball? I hope not, unless they stay true to the game.
