Canada’s humiliation in the final of the 1981 tournament where they lost 8-1 to the Soviet Union, thanks to a fantastic display by Russian netminder Vladislav Tretiak. Paul Coffey’s famous defensive play, leading to Canada’s dramatic win in overtime against the Soviet Union in the semi-final of the Canada Cup 1984. The final series of the 1987 tournament between the Soviet Union and Canada, each game of the three game series ending in a remarkable 6-5 score line. ‘Team Terrible’, Finland surprisingly tying Team Canada in the opening game of the 1991 Canada Cup tournament round robin.
