Should you buy this album? Definitely!
The Songs:
Delicious melodies, driving beats, and syrupy solos. Laura Scarborough's
lyrics are a journey in themselves - dripping in inspiration, they are
delivered with ease by her distinct vocal style.
There are slightly different versions for the songs that
appeared on Chapter One: Desire. The "old" songs have a new
edge on them, and all the new songs are fantastic! The mix and sound for
the album, is just beautiful!
* Turn Around sets the scene perfectly!! "Things will go down that we never were expecting.
We can let it throw us off track, or we can make a choice to take our life back"
* Mind is utterly gorgeous!! The intro starts off with
slow phrases, moving into trickling keys. "Does
the spirits life end, and where does it begin. And when we sin are we
really forgiven? How can I be guided to more positive living?"
The haunting guitar solo is the scene stealer. Wow!!!
* The intro for Face Up is very playful, this is my second
favourite on the album. I usually end up walking around singing it,
after the CD has finished. "Sweet smoke,
sugar, caffeine, nicotine, touch. I allow myself indulgence too
much". Classic LS lyrics, all accented beautifully.
* Sea feels like you are under the sea."Tranquility"!
* Can't Rewind, is another one of my favourites! The
lyrics are wicked! "Intension was an
innocent The story began to unfold...".
* The beautiful Fragile Heart is so personal, sweet, and
sad.
* The beginning lyrics for Beautiful Place, were on the
end of Dreamscape Waltz on Chapter One. I don't know the history there,
& whether it was always a full song or not. Anyway, it is, and it is
gorgeous.
