Meredith Monroe -- Andie McPhee on "Dawson's Creek"

Meredith Monroe joins the cast of last year's rookie hit as Andie McPhee, the newest resident on DAWSON'S CREEK. This fall, Andie and her brother Jack move to Capeside and struggle to adapt to their new surroundings. A child of privilege with a quick wit and a cockeyed optimism about her life, Andie will find romance with one of Capeside's eligible young bachelors. Also upcoming, Monroe will star in the CBS television movie "Beyond the Prairie: The True Story of Laura Ingalls Wilder." Monroe will have the title role of Laura Ingalls, the beloved author of the Little House book series. The movie will focus on the pivotal time in her life when she leaves the security of her family's home in Walnut Grove to begin a new life as a wife, teacher and mother. The romantic love story also stars Richard Thomas, Lindsay Crouse and Walter Goggins as her suitor, Almanzo Wilder. Born in Houston, Texas, Monroe spent her childhood in Hinsdale, Illinois. After graduating high school, she moved to New York to study acting. Monroe's career was launched when she was cast midway through the season as a regular on the television series "Dangerous Minds." The series introduced Monroe to Los Angeles and she permanently relocated in August 1997.
