I haven't got the reports yet, but I can anticipate some of the highlights of what hopefully Caz (and Mel!) will tell you later on!
Madrid
Did we tell you about how we froze our asses in Germany? well, we almost boiled in Madrid! So brilliant me, I asked this guy with a hose to please spray us (of course I thought he was NOT going to!) -- to make a long story short, we didn't realise that Pato was right behind us, and let me tell you, she was not amused!
The other highlight of the Madrid Open was without a doubt Pato's doubles partner: Nicole Pratt! that woman is a scream! we started cheering for her too and she got really into the match! "C'mon Nicole!" became one of our war cries for the summer!
Roland Garros
Roland Garros was a bit of a dissapointment this year, with both Arantxa and Conchita losing early and specially, when compared to the amazing fun we had the previous year. We did have our moments though, like when we basically [and unintentionally] hit on Lisa Raymond, seeing Nuria Llagostera do well in the singles or once again, cheering for Nicole Pratt! Also meeting Cristina or seeing Magüi play in the dubs with Alexandra Stevenson (!!!) [let me tell you that pairing made for much amusement before, during and after the match! Sorry Magüi, but I think *I* would have done better than Alexandra!
]. Also Caz went completely bananas and decided to return to Barcelona in the middle of the first week of RG to take an exam! which btw she passed with a 6.2!
Wimbledon
As usual, Wimbledon is the one tourney where we have the most fun, regardless of who plays and how well they do (I swear if one year one of our favs does well, we are going to have a heart attack!
)
For Pato's firt round match in the dubs with Pitu, we couldn't get tickets, cause they didn't announce the court before hand and they ended up playing in Centre Court. We were watching Paola and Vivi in the dubs and checking the score of Patricia's match vs. the Williams at the same time, needless to say, when Patricia and Pitu won their first game we cheered so loudly even Paola and Vivi cheered with us realising what we were doing!
For the mixed match, Pato drew the No.2 seeds, so it was another tough match, Caz and myself decided to go and cheer a bit for Patricia, but we felt bad about Patricia's partner, cause we couldn't cheer for him as we didn't even know his name! Which started with B, btw, and although I insisted that he was probably Brian, Caz wanted to scream "come on Bobby" which lead us to almost had no time for real cheering while discussing! we also tried to do the wave with only two people
much to our own amusement (and quite a few stares from the *very* polite asian fans [of Ai Sugiyama who was playing in the other team] around us!)
