The tennis season is now over, we've (Bea & Caz) managed to see a bit of tennis this year too (and yes! we are planning on next year's already!). The sad point of the year was seeing Arantxa retire. This whole sillyness has our Arantxa fandom in the background, it has expanded well beyond that, but when we first met and started the "tennis madness" it was due to both of us being fans of Arantxa... so farewell to Ms Sanchez! may you have an extraordinary life away from tennis! and see everyone (hopefully) next year! have a great end of 2002!

Update: Hi everyone, Patricia is playing Bali this week (gee, I know, the hard life of a tennis superstar! tell us about it! ).

On a funny note, the tournament website proclaims "Witness the world’s top players in paradise island!" and goes on to list the following players: Arantxa Sanchez-Vicario, Conchita Martinez, Patricia Tarabini, Alicia Molik, Tathiana Garbin, the defending champion Angelique Widjaja and Tamarine Tanasugarn. See? we keep telling you guys it's Pato ruling the WTA tour and not Kourni or the Sisters.

Update: Hello everyone, we have a new Encounter! Kat tells all about her encounter with Pato at the US Open 2002! it's our Encounter No.17. Thanks to Kat for taking the time to write this! Go read it!!! On the tennis side, Pato is playing this week with Bea Bielik (ncaa champ) at the Big Island Champs - yep, that's Hawaii!!! I know... geez... the life of a tennis star is SO taxing! . Update: Hey there! hope everyone is having a great summer! today we had our 10.000 visitor! WOW! who'd had thought so many people would visit! Pato is ruling the WTA! forget about Kournikova! ! I (Bea) have a couple of pics and I will post them here soon, I think Caz has sent me a report of all the tennis this summer, but I'll have to look for it... meanwhile, Caz has been spreading rumours about Pato playing some singles, but I can't confirm any of it, wouldn't that be cool though?

Update: Patricia will play next at Wimbledon, this time with Iva Majoli. Meanwhile, we have added a new legend to the Legends list: Régis (Tauziat's coach), welcome to this elite list, Régis. Update: We are just back from RG!! we had a great time (as usual) and we have loads of stuff to tell all of you! , this time, Mel joined us (Bea & Caz) and we had as much fun as per usual. We'll tell you all about it in the days to come, so far, we have thought to include a couple of new sections: the "Legends of the Tour" and the "Sayings", they are not yet completely ready but check out the Reports Section, and see what you think of what we have so far!

(I'll be the first one to admit that I am not the best photographer out there ) anyway, they are in Gallery 2 under "Various Pics" - go check them out!

Update: Well, nothing too interesting to tell, just letting y'all know I am still around! hehe, Pato and Conchita are playing together again this week, at Charleston in the Family Circle tourney, you can see the tournament website here. I hope I will be able to offer you some new pictures soon. Linnie went to Amelia Island and is now at the FCC, so hopefully, she'll get me some pics of Pato for you all to see!

Aside from that, I am sure you are dying to know what we have been doing! I recently heard from Ericha after a long time of silence, she's still in Canada doing well. Myself (Bea) and Caz met up last weekend to go to see some ice skating in Paris... after a 15 hour trip to Paris with a stop in London in the way to talk to some of our tennis friends, we planned world domination , and decided once we conquered the world we would have a tv show called "let's talk about tennis in a fake accent"... I know. Don't ask! we really shouldn't be allowed out together!

Update: Hey there, sorry it took so long for me to confirm the "rumours" you know how it is, sometimes real life and work get in the middle of tennis! hehehe. Well, I don't know yet if Patricia will be playing Nasdaq-100 (or Ericsson, or Miami, or whatever, I swear they change the name *monthly*), but Lynn went to see the Pacific Life tourney (Indian Wells) and said that Pato and Conchita are working together again... may they have the same success they had the first time and reach another RG final together! (and this time Conchita wins it!!).

Well, I don't know if it's true yet, but apparently Patricia is playing with Conchita the Mexican Open! This is the most exciting thing to happen since... hmmmmmm... someone found a tooth in the food in the Uni restaurant? so let's hope it is true! I'll keep you updated.

Update: Good news everybody! Pato keeps playing! She's playing ASB bank classic (Auckland, New Zealand - Dec. 31 - Jan. 6 (Tier IV))! She plays with Pitu and they are seeded 3rd! Best of luck!

Update: Well, as every year at this stage, what we are all wondering is whether Pato will be playing for another year or not. I have seen her profile in the Australian Open 2002 website, so that's an indication that she might be playing in 2002... of course Corina Morariu is also listed and we all know that *she* is not playing for sure... get better soon Corina! anyhow, let's hope Pato will play!!! (cross your fingers everybody!).

Not much to tell either as Pato hasn't been playing this last month, I've heard she's coaching Pitu now (Maria Emilia Salerni). Pato will be playing this week at the SwissCom Challenge Zurich (Switzerland) with Caroline Vis (NED), they are seeded second, so good luck!

Update: Days of unimaginable tragedy all over the World, with the collapse of the WTC twin towers and part of the Pentagon... a prayer for all those trapped under the debris and their families and friends.

We do have something new on the website, courtesy of Ericha! she found a new pic in the WTA site (yeah, imagine that! the official site knows about the existance of doubles players! one would imagine they didn't ever thought about anyone not named Anna K or ranked in the top10). Update: I got a new picture! it is so nice I am going to exhibit it here! it's from when Pato and Conchita won the Bausch and Lomb champs back in April! I e-mailed the official website and a really nice person from the site send me the picture! I know all of you want to see a pic of the UNIQA trophies but I have been unable to locate one so far. For now, let's enjoy this one.

Update: Patricia and Paola 2001 UNIQA Grand Prix Champions (Vienna, Austria).

Patricia and Paola just won the Vienna title!! (Tier III) ¡Felicidades! Pato and Paola def. Vanessa HENKE and Lenka NEMECKOVA 6-4 6-2 to win the title!!! They didn't even drop a set in the whole tourney!

A look through the webcam of the UNIQA website (I could only stand it for a few minutes, cause I was giving myself a headache trying to move the webcam around! ), but I managed to capture a few images before I decided to shut the thing off!! lol here:

Also I added a new link to a Justine Henin site. Funny enough, I got an e-mail from the webmaster of this site telling me how much they loved my "Nathalie Tauziat" website and if I would exchange links with them! Gee... I am not sure if I should take that as a compliment or as an insult! !

Update: Friday! not a bad day though! - I am just making room in the website for the 2001 summer reports, although I have to say that it might take a while until I can add anything there, cause everybody is away on holidays! (lucky b!tches! ) - but it takes a while to make room for new sections, so I'd better prepare it now! On the tennis news (yeah, don't faint, sometimes I even talk about tennis here!) Patricia and Paola are in the Semifinals in Vienna and will now play vs. Valenkova/Van Exel [LL] for a place in the final! ¡Vamos niñas!

Update: I am back from Wimbledon! I had a wonderful time and got to see Patricia playing in the mixed, unfortunately, Pato wasn't lucky this time and played against the No.1 seeds in the dubs (the Williams sisters) in the first round and drew the No.2 seeds in the mixed, so it was a pretty short lived Wimbledon for her! she's now playing in Viena, and she's partnering Paola Suarez, they are the No.1 seeds, so hopefully they'll do well this week! I have a few pictures from my trips this summer and I am hoping I'll be able to get some reports too. I'll keep you updated! good luck to Patricia this summer!

Update: I am back from my two weeks of tennis live! First the Madrid Open and then Roland Garros! As usual I had an amazing time and made some new friends! I also met some of the old ones . In any case, Caz and Mel will soon write a report of the tennis summer season (cause I am pretty sure I can't count on Stacey for that! ) and some new photos. But for now, I have added 4 new pictures from Hamburg and Berlin that were sent to me by Manu (our greatest photographer!) you can see them in the Gallery 1, in Pics by Manu (they are the last four where Pato is playing with a tennis ball). Thank you a lot Manu!!! You are the bestest photographer EVER!

Also I finally did a copy/paste with the results, so that we don't depend on the ITF site being up anymore to check Patricia results! aren't you proud of me? . Pato didn't play with Conchita in Berlin and I don't know if she'll be playing in Rome, cause the dubs draw hasn't been released yet. On other news, I just learnt that Stacey will be coming back to Europe to attend RG, Eastbourne and Wimbledon. I think this is a fair warning to everybody!! start looking for cover!!!

In other news, Conchita Martínez announced today that she will discontinue her relationship with Patricia Tarabini as her coach. She will now start to work with Eric Van Harpen again, in hopes of returning to a more aggressive style of play. Whether this means that Conchita and Patricia will also split their partnership in the dubs or not, remains to be seen. This week, Patricia is playing Hamburg pairing up with Caroline Vis (!) [one very scary dutch woman! ] while Conchita is playing with Jelena Dokic (and Jelena deserves 2 exclamation marks at least ) - We'll have to wait and see if Patricia and Conchita play together in the following tourneys or not. In any case best of luck to Pato and Caroline this week!

This probably means that it's going to be even more difficult to find things about Pato to add to this website. But, hey! we love challenges!
