Of all the things Phoenix is famous for, snow isn't one of them. However, in a good year the northern half of our state is blessed with a healthy snow fall. That's when our skiiers slap on their boards and head up to the high country. (Well, I suppose they do it the other way round, as it's pretty tricky to drive otherwise.)
We have some downhill skiiers, as opposed to uphill skiiers, :-) but we tend to do more cross-country stuff.
Arizona's ski season is usually fairly short, and some years has been almost non-existant, but check our Upcoming Activities section in the winter months and keep your fingers crossed.
Check The Adventurer for details of upcoming events.
