The Texas Instruments 92 Plus Programmable Scientific Calculator The spirit of 99/4A lives on If
it weren't for the Internet, I would not know about the existence of
TI programmable calculators. They do not seem to be sold here in Greece
(Maybe in a few shops only in Athens and only the smaller models) while
other brands (like CASIO) are widely known here. The TI-92 Plus is the most excellent scientific computer I've ever owned (and I've owned quite a few!) It is programmable in BASIC, has 192 Kb usable RAM and 768 Kb FLASH ROM for apps, can be connected to a PC using an interface cable and has a powerful Motorola 68000 CPU running at 16Mhz. It's more powerful than my original Atari STE! Needless to say, working with this machine reminds my strongly of my 99/4A. Has a qwerty keyboard, a large high res LCD screen and many advanced functions. It is equipped with a Computer Algebra System (CAS) which can perform symbolic math. For more details of TI-92 Plus and the upcoming upgrade Voyager 200, I suggest you visit TI's educational site I am also planning to create a separate math site emphasizing in the use of programmable calculators that will feature math programs for the 92 plus. Stay tuned.
