The most memorable
years of my growing up. Sadly did not finish at CJM but will always
have memories of spiders in the bath, the best fudge and school
toffee known to mankind thanks to Sister Marie Rose, darling Sister
Clotilda and her cat, Sister Simon Peters kindness and just too
much else to fit into this. More power to all CJM girls all over
the world. Love your website.

I can't decide whether to be sad or happy at this revival of CJM
spirit. It's exciting to be in touch with so many who experienced that
unnameable magical 'thing' at CJM, but at the same time it breaks my heart to
see that we are connecting because it's the end of the very thing that lies at
the core of who we are. Great job on the website Sonia.

Hated going back to school but I admit I spent the best days of my
life there. The friend I made during the years I was at CJM are my friends for
life. I am greatful for all the Nuns too during my days spent in Murree...I
think they have the most difficult job in the world to control girls in thier
growing up years. Very sad to know they are closing down the boarding school but
they should keep doing a good job to give the best education they can. Still
dream about the place even after so many years...

Thank you for the lovely display of pictures of the J&M.Sad that
the boarding school will close soon -where are all the day girls coming from ?
Is Murree accessible now- not so in my days. Does any one know where Mother
Berchmans is? I have great memories of the school and owe my diciplined
upbringing to the the J&M which in turn I impart to my children.Once again thank
you .Eileen

Everything looks almost the same even after so many years .I wish I could go
back some day and see all the places with my eyes ..specially my bed in the red
dorm. Please ask everyone to submit more pictures. Its an excellent effort from
Sonia. It would be nice if we find our not so active classmates on internet and

After all these years I still remember Convent- the dark, long,
cold corridors; the aroma the kitchen exuded; the taste of love in the food; the
way I shivered on seeing Mother Berchmans and Sister Mercedes' clapping as I was
almost ALWAYS late!! I only want to thank everybody there- esp. Mother
Berchmans, Sister Mercedes, Sister Penelope and Miss Coutts for inculcating in
me the wisdom to understand the world. I hope every Conventarian becomes a good
human being and never forgets Convent, which still says: "Go, shine for me..."

to express the sorrow i feel for this. But I guess now its up to us
Conventarians to keep the memory of our school alive. Remember Girls: "Hold High
the torch, Its yours to keep burning, yours to pass, When you no more need
light!" It is our turn to keep the tourch burning, and this site is definitely
doing exactly that! Well Done Sonia

I was really sorry to hear the very sad and depressing news about
cjm . the last time I ever visited the school was on my honeymoon which was in
1986. It brought back alot of memories, specially the clear nights when i used
to sit on the bench on the flat and look down at the bright lights of Islamabad
and wonder what the people were doing at home.It was so peaceful Its very
unfortunate that there would be no boarders to experience this wonderful site
,anyway I wish and pray that things work out.Good Luck!!!!
best regards bano

would be very happy to hear from them.

My first school was Station School, Pindi. Our Principal was Miss Spendlove, and Miss Sail was one of our primary teachers. I remember that Shakila Ayoub d/ of the CINC Pk army was in my class --we had a play--I was Little Miss Bo-Peep--The oelder Ayub Girls were senior--When In Murree-Asmat Autangzeb was a boarder--a term we used then--Jamila and naseema were seniors----In the 1990's I went back on a very / very rainy monsoon day--The sisters gave us clothing and ironed ours dry! I have to look for the pictures on that rainy day--they should be some where--The family albums stayed in pakistan--and it is very sad to tell you this that My parents and the 3 sisters are now deceased. My sisters were yuonger than I am--sheer accidents--that rarely happen--Pictures and albums are in the homes--and someone will have to go and sort them out. My late mother always dreaded that--"What will happen to all these albums!" I have been living in the USA since I was 19---many,! many moon! CJM gave me the basics to the world--One cannot ignore the home environment--but CJM really was about students and learning.I think I have said enough.

I have so many fond memories of the time I and my sister Charmaine spent at CJM. We tell our nephews of the stories of the times we got into trouble for doing things we shouldn't, like picking apples from the trees (even though we were told not to) when we went rambling. Or for picking berries from the bushes when we should have been resting in the afternoon (we got caught for this as we had gathered them in our petticoats and they left huge stains). However, most of all I am very proud to have been a part of the school and truly feel that it gave me a solid foundation in my faith as a Christian. Thank you to all at the school, Sister Andrews (whom I have always remembered), Mother Gertrude, Sister Clotilda (I was sorry to hear of her passing) and everyone who played a part in my educational and social upbringing. This is truly a great school and it is a shame if it were to be shut down. I would love to hear from some of the girls who were there at the same time as me, Valerie Horne, Sally Ann Jones, Caroline, Nyla. God Bless. Gail Allman@hotmail.co.uk

Hello there fellow alums: I lived in Pakistan from 1978 - 1981 while my parents were diplomats from Ghana. I attended the CJM in Islamabad until I believe Class 6 when I moved over to the boarding school. I loved every minute of it, from the first day when I was surrounded by people who had never seen a black person before. I would love to get back in touch with my classmates and wonder what happened to Sister Simon-Peter, Mother Catherine, and so many others. Someone please email me.
