One evening, several slash-writers got together to discuss the "Problem With FanFic Awards"...
And one spoketh(in a suspiciously British accent) : Has anyone noticed there is a veritable plethora of fanfic awards for Buffyfic? And a ton of fanfic awards for Hetfic? And a slew of fanfic awards for unlikely pairings like..(gasp) Willow/Angel? Not to mention the overflowing boatload of awards for fluffyfic?
And lo, they were disheartened. Where in this vast, cyber universe could the Slash-shippers go to be recognized? Who would carry their flag into the wilderness that is B/A fluff-fic-dom? Who would hear their lonely call?
When suddenly, a cry arose from the endless desert.
"Oh, hell, let's just do it ourselves!!"
ANNOUNCING THE FIRST FANSCHOICE SLASHFIC AWARDS
The ONLY awards designed specifically for Slashfic, of any plot, pairing or rating. The ONLY awards where ONLY the fans choose the winners, guaranteed.
No judges. No bias. No kidding.
These awards will be given out three times a year, for the following categories:
Best Short Fic (Short N Sweet, Nifty N Naughty)
Best Series (Long Lovely Nifty N Naughty)
Best Darkfic (So Creepy We Slept With the Lights On)
Best Unexpected Twist in a Fic (We Weren't Expecting THAT!)
Best Sex Scene (So Hot We Had To Take a Shower)
Best Funny Fic (OMYGOD I Laughed So Hard It Fell Off)
Best Subtle Slash Fic (Softly..Softly)
Best Original Character (Who Was That Masked Man?!)And yearly, from the nominations of Best Short, and Best Series, as well as other nominations taken after these awards are given:
BEST OVERALL FIC (FIC SO DAMN GOOD JOSS SHOULD HAVE HAD THE BALLS TO PEN IT)
And the call was heard throughout the mythical land of slash...come one come all! nominate! vote! bring dip!
