Piercing: A Personal Journey
by ~Cyberotica-Chrysalis~

This is a journey for me into the world of piercing and erotic pain. A bit of a journal if you will. Originally I was seeking a tattoo and have been waiting to find "exactly the right one." Well, I haven't found it yet.
Then came some changes in my life. I am more into the public realm than previously with my BDSM interests and lifestyle. Then there was also a very close friend that was talking to me about the erotic pain of piercings as well as the delightful ongoing sensations . . . and well, I could not overlook all the wonderful decorative jewelry.
So I spoke to several friends that had had piercings done. I also checked with the association of piercers and made sure that the shop I ultimately chose had trained professionals. I went in for a consultation prior to actually having my piercing done. The shop was clean and both of the piercers I spoke with spoke of the decision to pierce, as well as the actual procedure and the healing process and what to expect.
I took a friend along as well as my digital camera for I wanted to record this "event." (She was a basket case and I thought she was going to faint.)  Oh yes, this was for a double nipple piercing. While I am well-built (38 DD), I was told I had "small nipples." Like who knew??? We decided on a 12-gauge sterling ring w/ captured bead and they were put into the autoclave (yes, I do suggest you know this if you are brand new to the world of piercing.)  If they do not do this, take your body parts elsewhere. It IS your body.
My piercer told me that she was going to take the forceps and pinch my nipple then put the needle through followed by sliding the ring through at the same time. I requested that we do it in steps so that I could have pictures. She kindly agreed.

Baring my breasts, she gloved and then swabbed my nipples w/ disinfectant and kind of pinched the first nipple with her fingers prior to clamping down w/ the forceps. She then took the needle and ran it through my nipple leaving it with both ends sticking out so that we could take pictures.

Quite frankly, I had been so looking forward to this particular piercing, the pain of the needle was exquisite and not really long lasting. (As long as you didn't snag them on anything, that is!)  After that was done, she inserted the rings and we took a couple more pictures with both of the rings in place.

I was re-instructed on after-care so that the healing process would be as pleasant as possible. I followed them faithfully. Twice daily cleansing w/ antibacterial soap and then after one week, sea-salt soakings. Neither nipple got infected and, according to her, the healing was well ahead of schedule. She told me that normally nipple piercings take 6-10 months to heal properly and that she doesn't, as a rule, change them out before that time. I was able to do so at 8 weeks.
I have been planning another piercing. This time a genital one. Again I have asked those that have them and the piercer as well. She told me that an assessment needed to be done to see what exactly would best suit my anatomy. Originally, I was considering a clit piercing but had not yet figured out if my preference was that of vertical or horizontal or if a hood piercing would be my final decision with this piercing.
After listening to several people I again went in for a consultation. It was decided that I had a small "reclusive" clit that was not really suited to piercing as it would be risky to my future sexual enjoyment. Boy, did that change my mind on that!!! Jewelry is nice but NOT at the expense of sexual pleasure. So, again I asked about the hood piercings. After the examination, it was determined that indeed a hood piercing would indeed be suitable but again not as I expected.
I thought perhaps I would have options and that was negative. I was told that horizontal ones are pretty much ornamental. (Personally I have found I like decorative as well as functional piercings.)  She also told me that my body was suited for a vertical hood piercing. That piercing if the jewelry is right can provide a nifty place for jewelry as well as a source of pleasureable stimulation as well. Gotta love those multi-purpose piercings!! The other news that I really liked was that  that  particular piercing should heal better/faster than nipples.
So while I cannot yet tell you about that piercing, I can tell you I am anxiously awaiting the next piece of custom jewelry that is being made for me. Again, as this is a "journey into self," it will also be documented w/ pics. I can only hope that the jeweler doesn't make me wait too long!
