SAILOR OBERON: YEAR ONE
PART TWO: WINDY'S FEARS (BY INVID HELLCAT)
Windy's House 10 minuets ago:
Windy and her mom were eating their dinner when a chill made it's way
down Windy's spine. It felt like the icy fingers of Death himself had
just traced their way down Windy's back. She had no idea what the
feeling was but she instinctively knew that the feeling meant
something evil was afoot. Try as she might she was unable to shake the
feeling. Loki's words about not telling anybody her secret was still
ringing in her ears. Windy didn't want to betray herself she didn't
want to betray the fact that anything was wrong. She just continued to
eat her dinner and engage in the normal conversation with her mother.
Windy knew that the feeling was some impending evil when it seemed
like the harder she tried to ignore it the worse it got. She couldn't
help but wonder if Loki was also feeling it. As soon as Windy was
finished eating her dinner she excused herself from the table and went
straight to her room. She found Loki sitting on her bed. "Windy lets
go the forces of evil are on the move we've got to find them and
confront them." The cat said before Windy even had a chance to say a
word. Windy just nodded her head. She knew that her life had changed
forever but she had no idea that it was changing at break neck speed.
She was still somewhat in shock about learning her true past and
destiny and now she was needed she had no idea if she was even ready
for this. She didn't know if she was even able to comprehend what was
really happening to her. At this moment in time everything seemed so
surreal. The only thing that Windy knew for sure was fear and doubt
were wracking her mind. She felt like the preverbal deer in the
headlights. Regardless of all that she took her transformation pen and
did what she knew that she had to. Even after she transformed she
still felt the doubt and the fear. Ever so faintly words echoed in her
ears. Words that were spoken to her millennia ago. "If you doubt
yourself and your power then you open the door for the eternal embrace
of Death." Who had spoken those words Sailor Oberon could not remember
but she knew that they had been spoken to her. Right now that really
didn't matter who had said them that was the past this was the present.
Seconds seemed like hours even with the ability to cover enormous
distances with literally a hop, skip, and jump the journey seemed to
take far longer than it really did. The term butterflies in the
stomach didn't do the way that Windy was feeling any justice it would
be more accurate to say that she had birds of prey in her stomach.
Windy could feel every muscle in her body go as tense as it possibly
could. She felt as though she were about to confront the devil
himself. She took one look at the mall and the strange gaseous cloud
that seemed to be spewing out of every door and window. The Senshi of
Magma took in as deep a breath as possible and let it out slowly.
People were counting on her even if they didn't know it. Sailor
Oberon's worst fears were that she would find her friends caught up
in the middle of this madness the last thing she wanted to deal with
was seeing her friends injured or even Heaven forbid dead. When she
entered the mall the sight before her was more horrifying than she
could ever imagine even in her worst nightmare. There were bodies
everywhere, and not a single one was showing any signs of life.
Whatever it was that had done this spared nobody young, old, men,
women. Sailor Oberon felt an anger that she never knew that she was
capable of before. She saw a child that looked no older than five
lying on the floor a look of terror seemingly etched on the
youngster's face. Tears began to well up in Sailor Oberon's eyes. She
put her fingers to the boy's neck and was somewhat relieved to find a
pulse. She was hoping against hope that if this young boy was still
alive that so were the others. "Oberon come on we've got to find the
ones responsible for this, and stop them." Loki said his words
snapping Windy to attention to her being here in the first place. What
the words didn't do was break the hold of the fear and doubt that were
gnawing at her. "Right, I'm going to make whoever did this pay. These
people didn't deserve this. Especially this young child." Windy hissed
as she clenched and unclenched her fists. An ear-piercing scream cut
through the silence Loki and Sailor Oberon headed in the direction of
the scream. They saw a body hit the floor and a woman standing over
it. Then a second later a black oval shaped thing seemed to appear out
of nowhere and they saw the woman disappear into the black thing.
"That woman we saw she must have drained their energy somehow. This is
bad I knew that the evil had returned but I had no idea that they had
started their assault on Earth already, and they're already one step
ahead of us." Loki snapped. "Well Loki, I do remember somebody telling
me that evil never rests. I guess that evil doesn't hesitate either."
Windy replied as a feeling of utter dread now seemed like it was all
consuming. They had been to late to save anybody. If evil moved this
fast then she was fighting a lost cause. She knew that she had to be
ready and react faster but she didn't know if was able to. It just
didn't seem fair she was far too young to have the hope of the world
rest on her shoulders. She felt like the lone miner who was told to
dig a tunnel through a mountain with only one pickaxe. She fell to her
knees sobbing finally giving in to her fears. She only said one thing
over and over again in between her sobs, "I am not ready, I'm just not
ready." Loki was beside himself he couldn't believe what he was
witnessing. "Damnit Oberon snap out of it! You're a Senshi a warrior
of the Moon Kingdom not some sniveling little infant." The cat uttered
on the verge of shouting. "Just shut up Loki I may have been a Senshi
a lifetime ago but right now I'm just a teenaged girl, I'm just not
ready for all this it's too much for me to handle right now." She
snapped back as she hugged herself. Loki didn't say a word he seeing
as how he had no idea how to respond. The only thing that the cat
could think of was that this was going to be a uphill battle all the
way.
Zephyr's Base:
Zephyr couldn't believe how easy things went not that she was
expecting much of a challenge but still they went far easier than she
ever hoped. She had gathered quite a bit of energy she was hoping that
it would be enough to satisfy both Queen Beryl and General Jedeite she
was hoping for a great reward for her work from both of them. Who
knows maybe her queen would be so pleased with her that she might even
become a general herself. The possibilities seemed endless. Zephyr
couldn't wait to tell Jedeite what she had done she couldn't wait to
see just how she would be rewarded by him. Oh the possibilities were
indeed endless, but right now her reward was being able to laugh at
that pyromaniac from Mars, and right now that was good enough. Zephyr
started to plan out her next move. She knew that it would be only a
matter of time before she sucked every last bit of energy out of this
town. Then when both her and her beloved had completed their missions
the Dark Kingdom would have more than enough energy to finally and
fully conquer the Earth. Yes, Zephyr and Jedeite would show the other
Generals how things were done. The generals would all find out that
Zephyr was a true force to reckoned with, and coupled with Jedeite
they would learn that they are an unstoppable duo. Oh glory seemed so
close to Zephyr that she could taste it, and with no one left to
oppose her it tasted all the more sweet. "It's so wonderful to be me
I'm the best thing that ever happened to the Dark Kingdom." Zephyr
announced to nobody in particular. She started to read over the
scouting reports of her Yoma from what it would seem like the next
best target would be a school or an air port. Zephyr decided on the
air port for her next target, she also decided that it could wait for
morning after all it would be an easy win like all her others so no
need to rush it besides let these petty humans enjoy what little time
they had left anyway since soon they would all be slaves of the Dark
Kingdom.
Windy's House:
Windy had finally gathered herself together. Although the overwhelming
feeling of what her life had become was still with her. Windy was just
laying in bed not moving, not really showing any signs of life except
for the fact that she was breathing. "Windy I don't know what happened
but you can't do this if that enemy had stayed and attacked you, you'd
be dead by now." Loki tore into the girl but Windy didn't say anything
she didn't even so much a twitch a muscle. "I know you can hear me
Windy so stop acting like you can't." The cat scolded. Windy took in a
very deep breath. "Just shut the hell up. I don't want to hear it Loki,
I'm not who I used to be. I'm not the Duchess of Oberon anymore. I'm
just a normal thirteen year old girl, and what I've just experienced
scares the crap out of me, so just leave me alone and find some other
poor girl that's willing take the job." She replied in a very harsh
tone of voice. Windy then rolled onto her stomach and put the pillow
over her head. Loki was now at a total loss in all the time that he
could remember he could never remember a Senshi that attempted to turn
away her destiny not just attempt to turn it away but flat out
rejected it. The thing that puzzled Loki even more was at first it
seemed as though Windy was going to be accepting of her fate so
whatever it was that changed her did so pretty quick. Loki knew that
fear and doubt were always problems to be overcome but he'd never seen
anybody go from accepting to rejecting so fast. At this point the only
thing that Loki felt he could do was let Windy sleep on it and maybe
she'd return to her senses in the morning. Loki couldn't help but
wonder if maybe having a second Senshi at Windy's side would help her.
That friend of hers Janet Avalon seemed to be radiating the right sort
of energy to be a Senshi although it did seem quite weak, but it was
worth checking into. As Loki departed the house Windy was drifting off
into the welcome embrace of sleep. Windy's mind was still reeling from
the events of the day all that she could remember was seeing that
little child motionless on the floor and that look or sheer terror on
his face, and the anger she felt and the fear that she could do
nothing from stopping it from happening again. Unknown to both Windy
and Loki a figure stood in the corner of the bedroom concealed by the
shadows the figure shook her head. This didn't look like a promising
start if this girl was going to accomplish her mission she was going
to have remember what her mission is long before she should have.
Silently a small orb shaped object floated over towards the slumbering
girl a faint light emanated from it and bathed Windy's body in it.
Then just as silently as it had come the orb disappeared, as did the
unseen watcher. Slowly new memories emerged from Windy's troubled mind.
In her minds eye she could see faint images of what she really wasn't
sure but one constant was hearing something about saving the daughter
of Saturn but it was so vague that it didn't entirely make sense.
Despite the radical change of her dreams Windy remained asleep. But
something was beginning to happen to Windy a new sense of urgency was
being developed, as was a new sense of confidence. The only question
that now remained was would this be enough to convince Windy of that
which must be done? As with all things in life, time would answer that
question.
Janet Avalon's House:
Like Windy, Janet was fast asleep. One major difference between the
two girls dreams was Janet's dreams were not anywhere near as
disturbing and distressing as were Windy's. Loki wasn't happy when he
found that he couldn't find a way into Janet's home the doors were
closed, as were all the windows. Then just as all seemed hopeless he
saw a light come on in one of the rooms and the window to that room
opened. "I hate this I can't stay asleep to save my life." He heard a
female's voice say. Immediately Loki recognized the voice. It was
Janet. 'Score one for dumb luck.' He thought to himself as he slowly
walked to the now open window. When Loki got as close as he could to
the window a white light in the shape of the mark of Uranus appeared
on his forehead. Janet saw the light and looked down to see where it
was coming from but as soon as she saw the source the light had become
a beam and was now in the middle of her forehead. Janet stood
motionless as the light continued. It was as Loki had suspected there
was something there but it wasn't enough to be of any use. There were
far too many gaps he wasn't able to glean who she was in her former
life in the Moon Kingdom he was just barely able to tell that she did
live there and that she was a Senshi but he had no idea which one. It
almost seemed like she was only half of what she should be that the
real Janet Avalon was somehow missing. Whatever the case may be this
road was nothing more than a dead end. There wasn't enough there to
reactivate her as a Sailor Senshi. As to not frighten the young girl
Loki removed all memory of this event from Janet's mind. Loki was at
real loss to explain what he had just learned he was almost one
hundred percent sure that somehow, someway Janet had been split into
two different people when the Silver Crystal reincarnated her in this
time. He never knew that the Crystal had that kind of ability, but why
her, why anybody at all? Well, this puzzle could wait for another
time. Loki also made a vow to himself that he would never under any
circumstances tell Windy about what he had learned this night. His
biggest reason for this was he really wasn't sure how she would take
it. With that Loki started the walk to Windy's house. It figured that
something like this would happen after all this time crisscrossing
Canada he finally finds two potential Senshi and only one of them pans
out. He was hoping that Luna and Artemis was having better luck than
he was. Somehow he just instinctively knew that the one he did find
was not the Moon Princess. Wherever she was he fervently hoped that
one of them did or else the battle was lost before it even began.
Zephyr's Base:
Despite everything that Queen Beryl did to change Zephyr she still
found that she held to some of her previous habits. There were some
parts of her that no matter how hard Beryl tried she just could not
purge, and the need to sleep was one of them. Well, not necessarily
the need to sleep so much as the need to dream. While Zephyr's body
slumbered her mind was busy at work conjuring up images of the past
long since forgotten by her conscious mind. Most people would find
Zephyr's dreams this night to be idyllic, and welcome, but to this
denizen of the Dark Kingdom she found them disturbing and repulsive.
Zephyr's dreams this night were of a happy time in the Silver
Millennium, a time of celebration. The announcement had just been made
public knowledge that Princess Selenity was engaged to wed Prince
Endymion of Earth. The entire Moon Kingdom had practically shut down
to join in on the celebration even dignitaries from other solar
systems had come join in on the happy occasion. All in all there were
maybe two people in the entire Moon Kingdom that wasn't participating
in the festivities. One was Apollo the Solar Guardian, chief trainer
of the Sailor Senshi, but then again he was notoriously absent from
any kind of celebration, preferring instead to work on battle, and
defensive strategy, and new training techniques. About the only person
who was ever successful in getting the Solar General to a party was
the Princess of Mars. The only other soul in the Moon Kingdom that
wasn't attending the gala was Zephyr she was busying herself with her
work. As the Venusian Ambassador to Earth there were reports to file
and interplanetary passports to review and most of those were almost
over due. The way that Zephyr looked at things work came first. There
was simply too much to do and not enough time to do it. Zephyr was
alone in her office as far as she knew she was the only person on the
entire planet, so when she heard her office door open she jumped
startled that anyone would be there. It was Jedeite, the general
looked flustered in truth Zephyr had never seen him look this way
before. "General Jedeite, I'm surprised to see you here, what brings
you my way?" Zephyr asked as she continued to watch the General. He
gave no response at first. "Something wrong sir?" She asked again this
time it was evident that there was concern in the Ambassador's voice.
"Yeah, something's wrong the ones destined to marry the Inner Senshi
have returned. After all this time away from the Moon Kingdom they've
finally come back." The General spoke. He sounded like somebody that
had just lost his only chance at true, life long happiness. "When they
left they were barely old enough to walk now they're going to marry
the Senshi. People they met once maybe twice in their whole lives.
Even though me and my fellow Generals have been there since almost day
one. Now it's almost as if were useless. The Royal Families have got
to know by now that the Senshi don't love them, that they love us, but
that doesn't matter now because of some bloody conspiracy of fate and
destiny." The General ranted. It was obvious that his anger was one of
a person who had just been kicked the head by love. Zephyr looked at
the distraught general with a certain amount of pity. Although she had
always wanted to win the general's affections, having what could be
considered a crush on him, she never wanted to win his heart in this
manner. She tried to find words that would comfort him but they
escaped her. Instead she just gently wrapped her arms around him. "I'm
so sorry Jedeite. I just don't know what to say." She softly told him
as she continued to embrace him. He returned the gesture and looked
into her eyes he see could tears begin to well up in her eyes. It was
in that instant that Jedeite had a revelation about the young
ambassador's true feelings for him. It's true that he had considered
Zephyr as a friend but it in that second he realized the emotional
anguish that their friendship must have been causing her. "Zephyr, why
didn't you tell me how you felt?" The general asked. Zephyr stood in
his embrace for a few seconds just sobbing before she answered him.
"I was afraid to say anything about it. I know how much in love with
Sailor Mars you are I was afraid that if I said anything that you'd
turn me away forever. That I wouldn't even have your friendship
anymore." She sobbed as she buried her head in the general's shoulder.
Jedeite gently lifted the ambassador's face so her eyes met his.
"Zephyr I could never forsake a friend, and besides love is just one
emotion that we can't control." He said as he smiled and kissed her on
her forehead. She smiled back and wiped the tears from her eyes.
Neither one said a word from that moment on they just stood there in
each other's embrace. Both knowing the full capacity of heartbreak
and heartache. Zephyr awoke with a start. She was all too familiar
with the dream that she had just had, and she didn't like it one bit
that even after all that time she couldn't shake that dream, or it
would be more precise to say she couldn't shake those memories. A
small ray of light shown thru the curtain of her bedroom. The new day
had dawned and she had plans to make for her second strike against
this world and its inhabitance. This was going to be great nothing was
going to stop her now.
Windy's House:
Windy slowly awoke the effects of the dream she had were still making
their presence known. She didn't know all the details but she knew
enough. There was somebody that she needed to save from something, but
who and what she didn't know. She couldn't shake the thoughts going
thru her mind she couldn't shake the feeling of urgency that came with
the thoughts. However she also felt a new sense of confidence in her
abilities, and in herself. She still had the fear, and the doubts but
they no longer held the sway that they did just a mere twelve hours
ago. Windy turned on her TV and started to get dressed. Loki stirred
when he heard the noise from the TV. "Good morning Windy, did you
sleep well?" The cat asked sounding like he was angry. "I slept great,
although I had a really strange dream last night. I couldn't really
make anything out but I remember having this feeling like I'm supposed
to be finding somebody. I had the same feeling the first time I
transformed, but it was too brief to really make it out." She told the
cat who perked his head up at hearing this information. "Windy ever
since I can remember I had a feeling that I was supposed to be
assisting somebody in finding and helping the daughter of one of the
Senshi now I know for sure that you're the one I was meant to help,
but you realize that if you don't succeed in this mission that's now
before you then your mission to save this person will be a failure as
well because she won't be around to save, and neither will you." Loki
replied as he jumped down from the desk and onto Windy's bed. Windy
was looking at the TV when a news reporter was doing a live broadcast
from the airport. The reporter was talking about how the airport was
looking into expanding. But what really caught Windy's eye was a woman
that was in the background just standing there not moving she could be
seen clearly. "Loki look at the TV tell me does that woman behind the
reporter look familiar to you?" She asked hoping against hope that she
was wrong. "It's the same woman we saw at the mall the one that
disappeared into thin air. She's going to strike at the airport next.
We've got to stop her." Loki said sounding near panicked. Windy didn't
hear what Loki had said after that her thoughts were focused on trying
to see if she can find a way to stop what she knew was coming. She
knew that she had to go to the airport but she didn't how she could do
that and still make it in time for school. She couldn't fail again she
had to do something, or at least she had to try to do something.
School could wait the fate of hundreds perhaps thousands of people was
at stake, but even more than that the fate of the world was at stake
if you really boiled it all down. "Loki lets go we have to try to stop
her maybe we'll get lucky and arrive before she can start whatever
plan she's got." Windy stated sounding determined. If Loki could have
smiled he would have. 'Now this is more like it.' Loki thought to
himself. "Right but what about school?" He asked wondering if Windy
was as committed to her words of action as she sounded. "Loki school
can wait, if lose another one we'll really be behind and I don't think
that we can stand another defeat." Windy exclaimed as she grabbed her
transformation stick. "Oberon Power, Makeup!" Windy said as she felt
the power start to consume her body. Consume it and make it stronger.
To one viewing from the outside all they would see would be a wall of
magma. When the wall magma subsided Sailor Oberon stood ready for
action. "Come on Loki we need to jet." Sailor Oberon commanded as she
opened her window and leapt into the air with Loki riding on her
shoulders. 'Yes, Windy this is much more to my liking.' The cat
thought to himself as he felt the rush of the air against his face.
Toronto International Airport:
Zephyr was casually strolling around the airport while dreams of glory
and grandeur stormed in her head. Even though her thoughts were
dwelling on victory and the rewards that would be sure to follow
something else was now beginning to make its way through her mind a
warning. A warning from one of Jedeite's fellow generals. She was
warned about her own overconfidence being her downfall. Well, if that
general could only see the ease with which her first victory was
achieved then he would realize that she isn't overconfident at all but
she was just that talented. She made one final round of the airport
silently laughing at the fact that soon all these people that are in a
hurry to get from here to there would soon be going to their final
resting place, and their energy would be used for much more
constructive purposes. After her final walk around the place she
walked into an elevator and summoned one of her Yoma. She gave the
Yoma some final instructions and then Zephyr teleported back to her
base leaving the Yoma to carry out her orders as she saw fit. About
that same time Sailor Oberon landed on the roof of the parking garage
if it was possible it felt like her five senses were at super human
levels. She could feel it but just barely a small chill of evil.
Judging by the way things looked it seemed pretty normal so she
guessed that the attack hadn't yet been pulled off. But, she was
having the same feeling as last night she could feel a faint touch of
chill run down her spine again it felt like it was the touch of the
Reaper himself. She knew that she only had seconds, a couple of minutes
at the most, to act. She walked over to the elevator and waited as the
car made its way up. Loki was still on her shoulders. "This isn't
going to be easy. Since she hasn't attacked yet she could be anywhere
in the airport. You're going to have to work fast, but at the same
time you don't want to cause a panic." Loki told Windy as the elevator
doors opened. Sailor Oberon then transformed back into Windy Hayes.
The move puzzled the raven colored cat. "Windy why did you power
down?" The cat asked sounding almost angry and confused at the same
time. "I look less conspicuous as Windy than I do as Sailor Oberon,
but I doubt that they allow uncaged pets in here Loki it might be a
good idea if you made yourself scarce until the fighting starts."
Windy replied to the cat. Loki pondered just how he was going to do
that seeing as how he no way of doing so. Loki jumped off of Windy's
shoulders and when Windy looked down at the cat she saw his Uranus
symbol start to glow and the next thing that Windy saw was a handsome
young man slightly taller than her with curly black hair and emerald
green eyes standing where Loki should have been. Windy couldn't
believe what she was seeing. "Loki what happened to you? You look
human." Windy yelped in surprise. Loki just grinned. "It's an illusion
or more precisely it's a telepathic image. People will think that
they're seeing what you're seeing now. It's the only way I can think
of to hide myself." Loki responded. The elevator doors opened to a
scene that is repeated daily at this airport people coming and going
trying to catch flights, rent cars, get their baggage, and all the
other normal hustle and bustle that makes a busy international airport
a busy international airport. Windy and Loki stepped out of the
elevator. Loki had made a comment that they might find more success if
they split up. Windy reluctantly agreed only because of the size of
and the sheer amount of people in the airport. Loki told Windy that he
would give her a telepathic shout if he found trouble. The face of
that woman would never be forgotten by Windy neither would the face of
that little boy. She would find that evil witch and make her pay for
what she did to that little boy. 'I'm going to take her down for him.
I going to stop her so no else will have to suffer like he did.'
Windy's thoughts rambled. Sadly, Windy knew the reality of the
situation finding this woman before she attacked was going to be next
to impossible. That fact alone made Windy sick to her stomach, but she
kept hoping that she would find her and put an end to her before even
one more person had to suffer. Windy continued to look very closely at
every female that she saw hoping to find the one she was looking for,
but not finding her. Loki was having no better luck the telepathically
disguised cat didn't find the woman he was looking for. Then again in
a crowd such as he looking in he knew that he didn't have very good
odds to start with. As he continued his search he noticed a thin black
mist start to come from the one of the women's restrooms he knew
immediately that he just found what he was looking for. On the other
side of the airport Windy was continuing her own search when she heard
a voice inside her mind. "Windy I've found her get over here as quick
as you can!" The voice shouted in her mind. She knew instantly that it
was Loki before she could even turn around she heard people behind her
start to scream. They were screams of fright and terror. Windy whipped
herself around as fast as she was able to only to see a black mist
lowly make its way towards her. "She's begun her attack." Windy
muttered to herself. People started to panic all around her, people
were running anywhere they could to try and avoid the encroaching
black mist. Those that the mist touched fell to the ground as though
they were lifeless. Windy could feel her anger increase this time
anger was all she felt there was no discernable trace of fear in her
entire body. In a matter of seconds the mist completely engulfed
Windy's body but for some reason she did not loose consciousness. She
didn't know whether or not it was because of an adrenaline rush or
because she was really a Senshi, nor did she really care all she knew
was the mist wasn't even slowing her down and that meant she would
finish off the woman who had attacked all those people at the mall.
With nobody around seemingly conscious Windy felt it was safe to
transform. "Oberon Power, Makeup!" Once again a wall of magma
surrounded her body increasing her natural abilities many times their
normal levels. The now familiar gray fuku was adorning her body along
with the yellow gold tiara with the opal in the center and the gray
boots to finish off her Senshi outfit. Sailor Oberon now stood and
ready for battle. Sailor Oberon continued her mad dash to where she
knew that she would find Loki. It took her maybe all of three seconds
to make the dash from one side of the airport to the opposite side.
Just as she had figured she spotted Loki but it looked as though he
was trying to fend off some kind of weird monster. The monster
resembled a human female in some respects but in others it looked some
kind of strange thing from a bad science fiction flick. It stood about
five foot six maybe five foot seven, it had orange and indigo striped
skin and hair. It had what appeared to be talons rather than hands,
and green spikes coming out of its shoulders. Windy had to admit it
was the most repulsive and disgusting thing she'd ever seen. She also
knew that if it was working with that woman then she would have to
take it down. She saw Loki leap at the creature but it swatted him
away as though he were a fly. Sailor Oberon heard a sickening thud as
the cat hit hard against a support column. She felt her heart sink
into the pit of her stomach as the thought came to her that Loki was
now dead. "NO! I CAN NOT ALLOW YOU TO GET AWAY WITH THIS!" Sailor
Oberon shouted as loudly as she could. The monster spun around and
picked up an unconscious woman. "You're too late I all ready have."
it laughed mockingly at Sailor Oberon. A bluish colored light
surrounded the helpless woman's body, and then a small ball of white
light appeared just above the woman and Yoma. "Pathetic this wretch
had almost no energy to give me. How pathetic these humans are." It
said as it unceremoniously dropped the woman. "Since your still awake
I'd bet you have lots of energy for me to give to my queen." It hissed
in a very evil sounding voice. "So, your queen must have been the
woman I saw at the mall yesterday, so where is she? Tell me now or so
help me I'll kill you right now!" Sailor Oberon shouted back her anger
threatening to completely over take her. The Yoma just laughed. "My
queen is the Dark Kingdom. Waiting for her faithful servants to bring
her enough energy to invade and conquer this planet, indeed this
entire universe. My mistress Zephyr is one of those servants. Now
submit to me human and give me your energy." The Yoma told Windy in
a voice betraying no emotion what so ever. Windy was getting ready to
fight her anger still at the boiling point. But then a voice of
warning came to her memory "Duchess Oberon it ill fits you to fight
when angry. Anger only leads to foolish mistakes, and foolish mistakes
leads to defeat, and defeat could lead to death if dealing with an
unruly or desperate enough enemy." The voice said as clear as if it
was said to her right then and there. Windy knew the voice was correct
she had to take control of her anger just as she taken control of her
fears. Otherwise she was as good as dead. She had to put everything
out of her mind the little boy, Loki, everything that was feeding her
anger. She knew it wouldn't be easy but if she wanted to avenge the
death of Loki and the harm caused to that little boy she had forget
all that and just focus on the task now at hand. The Yoma made its
move sending a blast of energy towards Sailor Oberon she was just
barely able dodge it. The Yoma made some remark about being impressed.
Windy muttered back that she had only just begun. The battle carried
on for a few minutes in that manner the Yoma attacking and Windy
dodging until Windy had finally had enough. She did a flying kick that
connected with the middle of the Yoma's chest. That sent the creature
stumbling back and falling over some unoccupied chairs. The Yoma let
out a scream of pain as it got back to its feet and rubbed the spot
where Sailor Oberon had kicked it. An image of a woman appeared next
to the Yoma it was translucent but opaque enough that you see it
clearly. "You failed?" The image said in an accusing manner. The Yoma
looked to the image as though it feared for its very life. "No,
Mistress Zephyr it's only a minor set back. I'll have this girl
drained of her life energy very soon." The creature groveled sounding
like it was pleading for a second chance. As Windy got a better look
at the image that appeared she saw that it looked exactly like woman
from the mall. "You, you're the one responsible for all this?" Sailor
Oberon yelled at the image. The image looked right at Sailor Oberon as
soon she finished speaking. A look of shock appeared on the face of
the image. "No, it can't be the Senshi are alive? Yoma I leave you to
your fate whatever it might be." The image said as it disappeared. If
Windy didn't know any better she would sworn that she heard a twinge
of fear and frustration in the voice of the image as it spoke. But
what caught Windy off guard the most was the image knowing what a
Senshi was in the first place. All she could think of was Loki telling
her about an old enemy of the Moon Kingdom, and then it fell into
place. The Yoma had said something about the Dark Kingdom, Loki made
some comment about the place where the enemy was from and it too was
called the Dark Kingdom. So this Zephyr was an operative of this Dark
Kingdom. Windy knew instantly that whatever battles she fought were
just that battles. The war would be far greater and more far-reaching
than she could imagine at this time. She heard a soft voice coming
from behind her. "Sailor Oberon destroy the Yoma now. Relax your mind
let your powers flow." The voice was Loki's Windy thought she was
seeing things as well as hearing things. She couldn't believe that
Loki had survived. She did what the cat had asked. She relaxed her
mind and let her power flow through her body and mind. Words came into
mind as she felt her power begin to build. She curled her left hand
into a half fist. "Magma Shot!" She commanded her attack power to
life. A stream of Magma shot out of her hand towards the Yoma. The
attack found it mark and struck the Yoma dead center of its chest.
With a final yell of pain the Yoma's body turned into dust then lost
its shape and collapsed into a pile of dust. Then it disappeared all
together. Sailor Oberon looked around and saw the people start to
slowly get up. She decided it was best to leave before she drew too
much unwanted attention to herself. She grabbed Loki and leapt out of
a window that had been shattered in her fight
Zephyr's Base:
Zephyr was nervously pacing around her makeshift base. She just
refused to believe what she had just witnessed. At least one Senshi
had been revived, and if she was correct her Yoma was now probably
destroyed. This was a major set back in her plans a problem that she
didn't think to plan for. She would have to stop her activities for a
while so she could come up with a plan for victory. A plan that
included killing the Senshi that she now knew opposed her. She knew
that it wouldn't be an easy task, but she knew that it was an
essential one if she was to impress Jedeite and Queen Beryl. Killing
a Senshi she figured would be a huge boost for her and she may even
become a General in Queen Beryl's army. Once again thoughts of
grandeur made their way through Zephyr's mind. It didn't matter if her
new plans took one day or one year to put into place she would be
victorious after all. It was only a matter of time. Zephyr called all
of her Yoma and they started making new plans on how to deal with the
Senshi that had just made her presence known.
