Scott Gomez is an Anchorage, Alaska native of Mexican and Colombian descent. He was on the 2000 NHL Stanley Cup Champions, the New Jersey Devils. He won the 2000 Calder Memorial Trophy for "Rookie of the Year" and is the NHL's first Alaskan as well as being the NHL's first Hispanic/Latino player.

Scott is the middle child of 3 Gomez childen. He has an older sister named Monica and a younger sister named Natalie. Carlos and Dalia are his parent's names.
