Nov 5, 2000 - Scott and the New Jersey Devils won their home-opener against the Montreal Canadiens. Go Scott and Deviils!!! Sept 27, 2000 - Scott Gomez appeared on NHL Cool Shots. It showed coverage of his day with the Stanley Cup in Anchorage, Alaska. Cool Shots also interviewed Scott's dad, Carlos. Sept 22, 2000 - It was reported in a Sept. 13 newspaper that Scott Gomez will become a full-time center for the New Jersey Devils during the 2000/2001 NHL season. He played mostly as a winger last season. The center position is his natural playing position. Sept 8, 2000 - The 2000/2001 NHL training camp for the New Jersey Devils started today. July 19, 2000 - Scott joined forces with other high-profiles stars from Alaska to encourage young Alaskans to register to vote. June 13, 2000 - Scott Stevens, Jay Pandolfo, & Scott Gomez were at the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) during the closing bell. They showed everyone the Stanley Cup. June 10, 2000 - In 6 games, the New Jersey Devils defeated the defending champs, the Dallas Stars, to win their 2nd NHL championship in 5 years.
