About Layout Version 7.0Layout Version 7.0 is most likely the last theme of Perfection and Fantasy. My last goal for this layout is to provide more media which includes, but is not limited to, pictures, music, downloads, and more. Every page is hand-edited/hand-made. This provides more detail and accuracy in every webpage. This layout does NOT use frames, and this site might never use frames again. The new scripts and style sheets make changing the layout a breeze. All scripts are functioning perfectly because of hand-editing pages. The only script error is made by GeoCities, which tries to insert its pop-up ad script. New styles have been added With this purple-lavendar-blue layout. This site has many affiliates, interactivity, information, downloads, and updates. The latest changes of this layout include:
About Site SpecificationsThis site will only be displayed properly in:
THIS SITE WILL NOT FUNCTION IN OLDER BROWSER VERSIONS!!! About MeI, Kevin, am 16 years old and currently reside in Maryland. My two first favorite animes include Cardcaptors and Pokemon. But I have to include Sailor Moon, which was the first anime I ever watched. I've also taken a recent interest in Chobits and Angelic Layer. I also watch the more contemporary animes just released in the United States such as Noir, RahXephon, Super GALS!, and more. I've always wanted to build a website and I've advanced so much since when I first began back in June of 2002. I want to pass on my knowledge and stuff from Pokemon, Cardcaptors, and other animes to fans like you. I loved Cardcaptors since day one. I think there was a contest, which was the reason why I watched it. Once I saw it, it became my favorite show. I fell in love with it instantly. I can only hope that it'll come back to Kids WB once more. When I first saw Pokemon, I didn't even know what it was. The first episode I ever saw was the S.S Anne episode. That was what caught my eye. Then Pokemon cards were created, followed by a lot of other fan stuff such as video games, more cards, new episodes, toys, food, music, etc. It has died down in many, but not in me. I still love Pokemon and I still love Cardcaptors. The HistoryThis site was launched in June 25, 2002. It was in a state of building since June 14, 2002, my 14th birthday. When the site launched with less than a week's worth of building, I was skeptical that people would show. I checked out many books on how to promote my site, and found them somewhat effective. The site had a starry background with no background music. With barely any material and many scripts to prevent people from taking images. Most were ineffective. After updating very often, I began to realize that there wouldn't be many updates for the future if I kept updating daily (I'm still doing it. Just check out the update for 12/25/02). Then with so many scripts and techniques, I finally gave up for a brief while and decided to dedicate a day to build a new layout. The layout was built in exactly five hours, from 9:00 PM to 2:00 AM. Uploaded that very day, a link was leading to the new layout in the time I was building it (I was building it online). Only six people saw it though. It showed a dark blue background with a few style sheets to change the scrollbar to dark blue. Background music was there, but it was highly unorganized and not on every page. Scripts were perfected, but I was missing one (Now inserted in Layout Version 4.0). Though better than the old one, it was still dark, unorganized, with many errors with links, scripts, and HTML. Spelling wasn't that great either but the content was better. The downside with that was that there were too many high-quality images that took too long to download. There was always something bad when something new came. Then I checked out books on how to insert some interactivity into my site. There came the monthly polls, contests, guestbook, and a new layout. Version 3.0 was the one with all the frames. It featured some errors, but not that major. A few missing links, and image here or there. The great thing about this layout was the knowledge that I learned. I checked out books (I still have them.) and taught myself HTML 4. I learned all about frames and a lot of other tricks. The background music was on every page, working beautifully. Scripts worked perfectly, for the most part. Styles sheets were inserted, and some time was saved (I just copy the code to access it instead of inserting the entire style). The only exception? All the GIF's, JPG's, Special, and Wallpaper images were still in the former layout. Even now, there are two of those still in that layout (Now disabled)! A Splash page was inserted in the last days of the layout. Links to other sites popped up in a new window soon after. Then a disaster with links and frames occurred, which forced me to create a new layout. Layout Version 4.0 consists of the theme Perfection. Every page is hand-edited or hand-made. Containing more detail and accuracy, the layout also uses inline frames. All scripts were functioning perfectly because of hand-editing pages. New scripts were added. With the calm blue layout, it consisted of many affiliates, interactivity, info, and updates. But the most prominent features of the layout were: Right-Click enabled (Until January 1, 2003), Error 404 page [Displayed when expired links are clicked that have errors, or lead to an page with errors (Read the Error 404 Page if you ever see it)], Special page displays thumbnails (Smaller, less memory images that link to the larger one, making download faster), script upgrades (Look at the status bar below), updated updates (Check out the Updates Page for strikethrough text, and more accurate spelling.), this About The Site page (Describes this site in detail with more to come in the future). Layout Version 5.0 features a nice lavendar-pink color and bright red links. It consists of the theme Perfection and Fantasy. Every page is hand-designed allowing better detail and accuracy. This layout does NOT use frames. All scripts are functioning perfectly because of hand-editing pages. The only script error is because of the host, GeoCities. New scripts have been added. With this pink-purple layout, it consists of many affiliates, interactivity, info, and updates. But the most prominent features of this layout were: Right-Click Enabled, Pop-Up Background Music upon viewing SakuraForever.html, Script Upgrades, Flashing links on mouse-over, Enlarged links on mouse-over, HELP ? links, Back To Top links, Menus for multiple pages, Special Page displays original pictures, Updates Page has more strikethrough text, and more accurate spelling! But a new layout always has some flaws in it, which lead to the creation of Layout Version 6.0! Layout Version 6.0 had lots of changes with a soothing green-blue background with bluish bold links that flash when you mouse-over them. Blossom made the banner for that layout and it featured many things. Background Music Page does NOT pop-up when you load the page. Click on the Background Music link on the bottom-right to open Background Music whenever you wish. Background Music Page modified. Close Window link is at the top, instead of the bottom. New and modified scripts. Topsites and the Sakura Order link is now on every page! Topsite marquee stops when you mouse-over it. Status bar scroll removed. It is replaced with the marquee shown on the left. The marquee shown on the left stops when you mouse-over it. HELP ? links moved to the right column. Right-Click enabled and as time progresses, more pages will be restricted from right-clicking. Staff and Job Openings are my newest pages. Laura is my official co-webmistress, Julie is another official co-webmistress, Blossom is my official graphics designer! About The MusicWith the recent redevelopment of the Music Page, there are certain modifications that assist with the successful download of Music from this site. These modifications were designed in hopes to counter every possible automatic functions from your computer, such as a music application automatically opening to play music. The MP3's are zipped in the common *.zip format. This prevents streaming media as well as shortening the download time. In addition, clicking on the download links will cause a alert to pop-up. This is to prevent a program from automatically opening the file, regardless of what format the media file is in. It also allows the chance for you to personally virus scan the file. However, Sakura Forever!!! ensures that ALL FILES ARE VIRUS FREE! To download the music file, just simply right-click and then click 'Save Target As..'. Keep in mind that bandwidth is limited; so if the download fails, please try again in a few hours. If you wish to have a media file e-mail to you, please e-mail me at sakuraforever2002@yahoo.com with the name of the file that you want. Please, only one request per week. Finally, all MP3's have been converted to play at 96kbps @ 44kHz with Stereo channels. They also feature 'Cardcaptors' as their album title and their respectful artist in the MP3 info. No other additional information has been added, with the exception of the Song Name that cannot be deleted. The Song Name can be edited though. This is the new standard for MP3's here at Sakura Forever!!! About The Background MusicOver the past layouts, many errors were made in displaying the Background Music. The first three layouts had the music code on every page, but it started over whenever you clicked on another page. Layout Version 4.0 used frames to view the page, but inline frames were only supported through IE capable browsers. Plus, it didn't look too well. My innovation is displaying the Background Music is through a new window pop-up!!! This allows you to:
About The DownloadsLike music, downloding anything from a link is different depending on your browser settings. There are three ways to download a file.
Click The LinkBy clicking the link, one of two things will happen: the file saves or the file opens. If the file saves, you'll notice a Save As.. Prompt Box appear with the options of where to save it and what to call the file. Your download would then be complete when the Download Box closes. If the file opens, the primary application the file type it's designated to would be accessed. The file would be downloaded and once completed, the file would open in the application. For example, if Windows Media Player was your application to play MP3's, you clicked the link for an MP3, AND Windows Media Player opens, THEN the MP3 would be downloaded first, then played. Retrive from Temporary Internet FilesIf such an event were to occur where the file opens, and you don't know how to save it, you can always get the file from your Temporary Internet Files folder. Since the file is downloaded before being accessed, your computer stores it in a temporary folder. As long as you don't empty the folder (Or your computer doesn't automatically delete the contents), you can always go to that folder, find the file, copy it, and paste it anywhere else. Check your computer for the default URL for this folder. Right-Click and Save Target As..If you click the link, the application opens, AND you really don't want it to, you always have the option to Right-Click and click Save Target As.. Hopefully, every page with a download link has the ability to Right-Click. If there is a page that does not, please e-mail me ASAP!! Doing so would automaically make the Save As.. Prompt Box appear. Just tell where to save it and what to call the file, press Enter or click Save, and the file will download normally. About The PicturesTOTAL NUMBER OF GALERY PICTURES: 200+ The galleries of pictures is one of the many things I'm proud of. Unfortunately with this site growing, there are too many galeries to keep track. This section is to guide through navigation along with all the little unknowns of the galeries.
About E-MailingSince the e-mail links will be replaced with forms, there are going to be some changes depending on your browser.
About Fan StuffYKWYLCCSW stands for You Know When You Love Cardaptor Sakura When... All the information was taken from a MSN Group (Soon to be identified). You may copy it, post it on your site, e-mail it to someone, whatever...as long as you post some credit to me or the MSN Group. More information will be avaliable soon. FanFiction has been donated, and it's pretty good!! I urge everyone to read it, even if it takes a long time. But that's why the FanFiction is avaliable for quick download for those who don't have time to wait and read the HTML form, which I designed it to be lovely. To view the FanFiction, go click here. Or to download a certain chapter, click here. About Your QuestionsIn response to a guestbook signing on 1/4/03: Could anyone post what the song is called for the awesome background music here? I don't have an e-mail address. I'll keep checking back... I started being interested in background music when I saw a non-anime site play it. I quickly attempted to learn how to apply it to all of my pages. Later this method was refined using frames, which made changing music easy, fast, and unexpected. I downloaded as much music that I can, throwing out the one’s I didn’t like. The music is pre-selected depending on the season, layout, tone, etc. The following is a table of the names of the background music I downloaded.
In response to a guestbook signing on 1/7/03: yeah nice site it really is...its the best site in the world...how did you think of such a nice name?!! This site name is an interesting story. I replay the moment over and over again in my head. It was a summer day, May I believe. During sixth period, I was in science class. I was just handed a worksheet to do. As usual, my friends came together to get the work done “faster”. One of my best friends, Slade, was an anime fan and made a scrapbook of FanArt he drew. I complimented on his drawing of Reene, from Sailor Moon. I asked if he knew Sakura. Sure enough, he knows of Cardcaptor Sakura and we got to this great discussion. I was talking of building a site, and as a pure amateur, I told him that I couldn’t figure out a name. An annoying person who wasn’t really a friend (There is always someone like that) started blurting out anime too. I supposed that he wanted to get into the conversation. He started blurting out anime names, most of which were already taken or just horribly off topic, as well as how he hates dubbed anime, and likes to watch “immoral” anime. We tried to shove him out, especially after the part of the “immoral” anime, but he persisted. Finally, I got my “guards” (I was a real popular kid in eighth grade…did I mention that this was in eighth grade?) to prove him dumb. He got off our case and was eventually punished by me. Anyways, Slade started to name some names. Taken, good, considering, and then I gave up. I said I’d figure it out later. We got back to working and I talked about how the Kids WB programs were highly erratic and of how I wished some shows would last forever. Then it shot to me, Cardcaptors Forever. Too long and broad. I decided to make it more specific. Sakura, my favorite character was substituted. “Sakura Forever!!!” I exclaimed that I found the perfect name, but was told that someone may have already taken it. I quickly checked the Internet to see if the name was available. Surprisingly it was. I quickly reserved in through Yahoo! Geocities knowing that I don’t know a thing of how to build a site, yet alone a good one. Using the Yahoo! PageBuilder as my guide, I started building from nothing, as my first layout was “just around the corner”. In response of a guestbook signing on 1/30/03: i think you got the idea of this layout from buggeroos/ sakura heart or something. i think you should credit them for that. also, is this perfection? you can do better. i'm sure. No, I am not a copycat. I made this layout entirely on my own with no help from anyone. I found all the mistakes an edited them on my own. I’ve never heard of Buggeroos until I visited today. I admit that the color looks similar to mine but I didn’t take it, therefore I believe credit is not due. It’s sort of like if you write a paper for class and find that someone else wrote the same thing (This actually happened in a writing contest I was in with a friend). You can’t say that they copied off of me or vice versa. It’s just a coincidence. I will, however, hand credit to SSPL. They hosted a contest with an X-Mas layout version, which inspired me to create any sort of blue layout that fitted my site. I believe that I was talking about this layout with S+S Shrine. I stated that I was going to make everything blue, in which I did for the most part. I even changed my computer desktop to blue shades and tints. To me this layout is perfection. It’s the most perfect layout since I started my site. I actually learned HTML and found out that there were many errors and flaws from my old layout. I took the time to reprogram everything until it was bug free in my browser. I know that you cannot view the site in Netscape. This is because I used Inline Frames, which is an Internet Explorer function only. I try to make the best I can, and I know I can do better. This site will fill up with stuff sooner or later. All things need time to grow, and for the time being, this is the most perfect of all my layouts. |
