The Storyline

How did it exactly start?

The setting is in a remote island called Kujira island...

A twelve year old boy was wandering in the forest when he saw a baby Kitsune-guma caught in a trap... Compassionate as he is, he tried to help the creature but the parent approached him and chased him, he tripped on one of the trees' roots and surely he was waiting for his end...

...then, someone saved him from his certain death, a hunter, who coincidentally came by fended the boy from the parent kitsune-guma...

After thanking the hunter, the boy asked why was he in the forest, then the hunter replied saying, "I am in search of one of the greatest hunters in the world"

The boy, wide-eyed asked about the hunter he was looking for, the boy admired hunters more than any other person then, as he listened, the said hunter was Gin Freecs, his father who had left him in the care of his aunt when he was still an infant.

Now, more determined than ever, the boy, Gon went to join the hunter exam to search for his father, and as he proceeds in his journey, he makes new friends who help him and makes him a better person...

What exactly is a hunter?

Being a hunter is a profession, but not just any kind of profession, it is a profession coveted by a lot of people, because being a hunter means having a certain kind of strength that is unique.

To become a hunter, you must pass a special test, called the Hunter Exam, it is held anually in different places and only a few make it within thousands of applicants, some even repeat for more than 40 times because they really want to become a hunter, but they are not able to make the cut.

Once a hunter, you are given a special identification card, the Hunter Card, which is given to certified Hunters who are approved by the Hunter Association. This card entitles you to a big discount to all establishments all around the world and could give you access to different places ordinary people cannot access. See? Being a hunter is so incredible that's why a lot of people want to become a hunter!

There are different kinds of hunters, here are some to mention, Blacklist hunter, this type of hunter is the type who wield power, most become bodyguards, most of them are hired by powerful people, Kurapika is one example, then there are Treasure Hunters, of course in plain terms they hunt for treasure, but not just any kind of treasure, they aim to find the rarest ones in the most dangerous of places, there are also hunters who look out for lost places (think of the Lost city of Atlantis, that should give you an idea) but I forgot what they're called, then there are gourmet hunters like Menchi from the Hunter Association, Gourmet hunters are people who look for hidden spices and stuff related to food, (if you have watched the series or have read the manga during the sushi exam you'll see that they eat a lot) but then, gourmet hunters don't just eat, they cook too, and some of the rarest spices they gather are found in dangerous places, (once during the exam, Menchi was insulted and she took an ingredient which was on a horn of a big beast with great speed and she didn't even break a sweat! Now that's cool!) so, don't think that if you can cook and be a picky eater you could be a gourmet hunter! There are also Music hunters like Senritsu, music hunters are well, fond of music of course, but they, like most of the hunters already mentioned, find rare things, of course, music hunters find rare pieces of music and sometimes, these pieces of music have magical effects. There are more types that are not mentioned here, but I will update and add more to give you more information!
