GROUP I

This section features mainly the past life of the four Gensomaden Saiyuki boys. The characters includes: Konzen, Tempou, Kenren, and (young) Son Goku. They have lots of similarities and differences in personalities with their present existence and their realtionship with each other.

Konzen Douji    [UP] Konzen -- Genjo Sanzo's past life -- is Kanzeon Bosatsu's nephew (I don't know which side of the family). He is also Goku's protector and guardian (by Kanzeon's order). Konzen is quite tall with extremely long yellow hair that 'shines like the sun' (according to Goku). He also has purple/violet eyes like Sanzo. Similarities with Sanzo ---- Like Sanzo, Konzen has quite a temper and hardly smiles. He doesn't like to show his feelings much like his 'caring' for Goku. Although, Goku is quite attached to both Konzen (past) and Sanzo (present), both thinks that taking care of the "stupid monkey" as quite a burden. Differences with Sanzo ---- Unlike Sanzo, Konzen seems to be quite dedicated with his work. However, compared to Sanzo, he doesn't seem to be much aware of what is happening around him. Konzen is, also, not much of a smoker.

Tempou Jensui   [UP] Tempou (or Tenpou) -- Cho Hakkai's past life -- is Marshal of the Heaven and a member of the Western Army. He is also known as the 'greatest military tactician' in Heaven. He has a library, which seems to be always in a mess, containing lots of books about the world. He loves to read and do reasearch about the world, and usually lost track of time reading. Tempou is also an old friend of Konzen. He is Kenren's friend and superior, and always tries to keep Kenren out of trouble. . Similarities with Hakkai ---- Like Hakkai, Tempou is polite, cheerful, calm and nice to almost everyone. He is also quite dangerous when he gets mad or when you get on his bad side. Also, among the four he is often the voice of reason and compassion. Further, just like his present existence, Tempou is also quite fond of Goku. Differences with Hakkai ---- Tempou's quite impatient or short tempered compared to Hakkai. He shows his 'lethal' side much more often than Hakkai. He, also, seems to smoke quite a lot compared to his present existence.

Kenren Taishou   [UP] Kenren -- Gojyo's past life -- is an Imperator or Captain of the Western Army in Heaven. He is quite a troublemaker, which is why the upper departments of the military have grown to dislike him and why he has many enemies. Similarities with Gojyo ---- Like Gojyo, he loves to drink, carefree, and a bit crude. He is a close friend of Tempou, which is his superior. However, he seems to have a great dislike for Konzen, like Gojyo's dislike of Sanzo. Differences with Gojyo ---- The big difference between Kenren and Gojyo is that he doesn't seem to be annoyed with Goku.

Son Goku   [UP] This is Goku 500 years ago. He is a spunky child, and much more sweet, vulnerable, and innocent compared to the Gensomaden Saiyuki's confident and a bit bratty Goku. Goku's strong attachment to Konzen is the same as his attachment with Sanzo. He is close to both Tempou and Kenren, which he calls "Ten-chan" and "Ken-niichan", respectively. However, the Gensomaden Saiyuki's Goku is quite close to Hakkai but seems to always fight/argue with Gojyo. Goku is a kid who is quite lonely and hungry for affection. He seems to be a bit more emotional than the Gensomaden Saiyuki's Goku. He is extremely disappointed when his best friend, Nataku avoided him.
