I just uploaded a new version of QDT2 (Quake/Doom/Tribes2) sound pak for Tribes2. The only thing that is actually different is the addition of a custom voice.vl2 file (see enclosed qdt2.txt for details). Essentially what this does is make the game MORE QUIET (like Doom/Quake) in that *all player voices* are removed. You still *see* the player messages of course. Ahhhh the quiet! And yes, this version of QDT2 works just fine with the FINAL T2 patch (ver 25026).

I just uploaded a new version of QDT2 (Quake/Doom/Tribes2) sound pak for Tribes2. New is the replacement of the 'cloak' sound in T2 (sound the cloak pack makes when in use) with the Quake1-PainKeep 'chant' sound. Think Gregorian chant. :-) It sounds very fucking cool & makes it much easier to hear the llamas sneaking up on you. I have also replaced the missle-firing sound in T2 with a custom one.

I pretty much no longer play Quake3, just Tribes2 & QuakeWorld. So I doubt if there will be anymore updates to q1q3.pk3 & q3doom.pk3. A year+ after Tribes2 was released I still love the game (despite it's problems)...so I would imagine QDT2 _will_ be updated again some time. I am really anticipating the new Doom & Quake4...

I just uploaded a new version of QDT2 (Quake/Doom/Tribes2) sound pak for Tribes2. New is the replacement of the 'deployable explosion' sound in T2 (deployable invens, sensors, etc) with the Doom2 'barrel explosion' sound. Neat.

I just uploaded a new version of QDT2 (Quake/Doom/Tribes2) sound pak for Tribes2. New are the replacement of the grenade launcher (fire & explode) and chaingun-firing sounds with those from Quake1 (T2 chaingun sound = Q1 SNG sound).

I just uploaded the first version of QDT2 (Quake/Doom/Tribes2) sound pak. I must admit T2 has been owning my ass lately :). This pak will not be as extensive as my Q1Q3 & Q3Doom paks because I like a lot of T2's original sounds... And yeah, I know, I never got around to finishing up the Q3-Team Arena versions of my Q1Q3 & Q3Doom paks...they are pretty much done so I will probably just upload them in their current state. I am STILL waiting for Q3F-Beta2...I will be updating Q1Q3 & Q3Doom when it is released.

I finally got around to updating the Q1Q3 & Q3Doom paks. The main change is due to the way id changed the railgun effect in v.1.29f; I have removed the "Quake2 like" rail effect because it no longer works right in this new version of Quake3. Note that the command to change your rail color is now /color1 x and /color2 x. I will be uploading a 'Team Arena' version of the pak files in a few days. Also, I am anxiously awaiting the release of Q3Fortress beta2 because to keep my paks compatible with that mod I will have to make some modifications. Cheers.

forsaken my Q3 sound paks...but Real Life has been distracting me. Look for something new very soon. Cheers.

I should be releasing a new version of q1q3 and q3doom soon, the main changes
are related to making the sound paks "Team Arena compatible". You can use the paks
with TA now but some things need to be tweaked :-). Also, I just found out that the
cool quakemail.com email service will be shutting down for good next week. Bummer. So

Q3Doom.pk3 has been updated to v.5.0. The major changes are;
-Replaces the Q3 sound for picking up holdable items (medkit, p.teleporter,etc) with Doom power-up sound.
-Replaces many of the new Q3Fortress v.1-f/g BETA player & weapon sounds with those from Doom.
-Replaces many of the new Q3:A (ver.1.27g/h) CTF sounds so as to keep the CTF sounds simple, like in previous versions
   (No voice/announcer in CTF).

Q3Fortress, CTF, or DM  are a fucking blast with the Q3Doom pak ! *For Q3Fortress, make sure to rename it to q3f_q3doom.pk3
and put it in your ...\q3f folder *

V.5.2 of the Q1Q3 sound pak is out. The main changes are related to CTF.  In Q3:A  v1.27g/h, id went way overboard on the
new CTF sounds, IMO. And so now you can play Q3:A v1.27 CTF with the same old QW-Threewave sounds. Ahhh, the quiet!
Please note the instructions below  re: using q1q3.pk3 with Q3Fortress. Expect a Q3Doom.pk3 update in a few days.

Just a note; if you are using q1q3.pk3 for  Q3Fortress, put it in your Q3F folder and rename it to q3f_q1q3.pk3. If you are using it for
DM, CTF, etc. just put q1q3.pk3 in ...\baseq3 (as usual).  Also remember that you can not use this sound pak on sv_pure=1 servers,
you will get kicked right after the map loads. Just rename q1q3.pk3 to q1q3.pk  when you want to play on a  pure server. Three Q3F
servers where you CAN use this pak that I know of (email me the names ofanyother one's you know of) areNJ-Railbait (2 of them)
and AC3 Clan server.

I have updated q1q3.pk3. This is really just a "Q3Fortress Update". I know a lot of the people who use this sound pak play
Q3F,  based on all of the email I get.  In ver. 1-F Beta of Q3F several player sounds (engineer for example) were changed, as
were several weapon sounds such as the Grenadier's grenade launcher sound, Paramedic's machinegun sound, and many others.
I have updated  q1q3.pk3 so that all of these have been replaced with the equivalent sounds from Q1/QW.

   Thanks for all of the positive feedback about my two soundpaks. Many people have emailed me stating that the one thing
they wish I would change in Q1Q3.pk3 would be to get rid of the YA(50 armor) pick-up sound that was in Q1Q3.pk3. I was
using the light armor (25 armor) pick-up sound from Quake2...but a lot of 1vs1 players keep telling me that it is too "quiet" and
so it is hard to tell when their opponent picks up this armor. So I haveremovedit in Q1Q3 v.4.3, so now you will hear the default
Quake3 pick-up sound for that armor. The new red armor sound is still inthepak. I also have a new site design in progress but
I can never find the time to finish it... 1
