Our Philosophy
On Horse Care
Horses are creatures of habit and routine. To reduce stress and make horses happier and more secure in their surroundings, we believe in maintaining a routine for our horses. We feed (within one hour) at the same times every day. We turn out at the same time every day. Our horses are turned out and brought in using the same order. This helps the horse to know what to expect.
What you can expect as a boarder
- Roomy box stalls with heavy rubber mats - cleaned and bedded daily
- 60 X 160 fenced outdoor arena with coarse washed sand footing
- We feed top quality hay (all they can eat) and grain
- Worming is done every two months
- We change blankets/sheets (boarder provided) according to weather conditions
- In summer horses are fly sprayed and fly masks and halters are put on (boarder provided) upon turnout
- We believe in as much turnout time as possible, however horses may be brought in early during bad weather
- Only leather or break-away halters outside (boarder provided)
- Halters removed when horses are in the stall
- Stall fans are used during hot weather
- Horses are turned out on well maintained grass/alfalfa pastures
- Outdoor water tanks are kept clean and the water fresh
- Heated tanks in winter - heated buckets in stalls when needed to ensure that horses never go without access to water
We believe we provide the best care possible for horses. Just ask Clipper, who turned 23 in February.

Our Teaching Philosophy
We believe in helping each horse/rider team reach their full potential, in any riding discipline, through effective communication. Horse and rider learn to listen to each other and earn one another's trust. Nothing can be accomplished through brutality and force. Fear is the enemy. Patience is of the utmost importance. Learning the language of the horse and gaining trust take time. We will not rush the student or the horse. Safety is stressed when working with the horse, both under saddle and and through work in hand. Horsemanship is taught along with riding, for one cannot be separate from the other if we are to reach our goal of a harmonious horse and rider working as one.
