| Known in Holland as Wim, he
ran the "Hotel de Wereld" in Apeldoorn with his
wife Johanna before emigrating from Holland in the latter
half of 1953 with his family on the ship Johan van
Oldenbarnevelt arriving in Melbourne in August 1953. On arrival in Australia the family lived for a period at "The Gables" in Daylesford before they settled in Melbourne. He worked as a carpenter at the former Good Shepherd convent in Abbotsford. |
