It is known from Ballarat Base Hospital
records that Daniel was admitted as a 13 year old to the hospital 5 Jul
1906 and discharged 23 Aug 1906. His address at the time was 18 George
street, Ballarat. It is also known that he went to New Zealand and married a Maori woman possibly with the name of Polly. In New Zealand Daniel's name evolved to Gwynne. He had a few children by Polly including a son who served in the army during WW2. The son came to Australia and tried to look up the Gwynns in Australia but to no avail. At one point Daniel left Polly, he came back and forth to Australia, on one occasion a ship he was in sunk near Wellington. |
