Chapter 12 - Recovery
His right eye was bruised, as was his forehead, his head was bleeding, and there was dry blood in his hair, and he had deep cuts on his hands and arms. He also had a fat lip, and a scrath across his left cheek. It definately didn't look like the Taylor I'd seen only a while ago. "What did he do to you?" I asked. "I'm not sure," he strained to speak. I didn't want to touch him, because it didn't look like there was anywhere on him that wasn't hurt, least of all his arms. So I just stood up and went over to try the window. It was locked. Then I just sat on the bed. "And Greg said he was going to make my life hell," I murmured. "You'd better watch out for him then," he warned me. "I can see what you mean," I agreed. We were left there for the night, and most of the morning, before we saw Greg again.

He opened the door, and threw Fabian in. He landed on the floor and sat up. Greg closed and locked the door again. "What was that about?" I asked. "Not quite sure," Fabian replied, trying to rub his head. It was a bit hard with hand-cuffs on. "Do you know where Zoltan is?" I asked. "Greg said he was going to give him to Mike," Fabian explained. "Well, what about us?" I asked. "He said he was going to keep us, and not tell Mike he had us in the first place," he explained. "So he can make our lives even more hell," Taylor said. "Please don't give him a hard time at the moment," I whispered to Fabian. "Why not?" he asked. "You'll see," I replied. Fabian squinted his eyes at Taylor, then got up to go over to him. He took one glance at him, and turned around quickly. "Oh shit!" he exclaimed, then repeated it eight times pacing back and forth up the other end of the room. It took him about ten minutes to calm down.

"What was that for?" he asked. He was sitting on the floor in the corner. I was sitting on the bed. "Not sure yet," I replied. "Is he gonna do that to us?" he asked. "Maybe," I replied. Fabian fell silent. The sunshine was pouring in the window, making the room hot. Probably the only cool place in the room was near the wall that had the window on it, which was where Fabian was. I soon retired there. Taylor stayed where he was. Of course, he didn't want to move though. In the late afternoon, it was alot cooler. We hadn't seen Greg all day.

All of a sudden, the door burst open, and a number of policemen ran into the room, heavily armed with guns, wearing helmets, and bullet-proof vests. When they saw me and Fabian, they lowered their guns. Behind them, Zac and Amy ran in! Fabian and I stood up when we saw them. I think we were too stunned to speak. "Where's Taylor?" Zac asked. "Over there," Fabian pointed to him. He hadn't moved. "Be careful," I warned Zac, as he headed over to him. I heard him give an exclamation when he took a first glance. Then he tried to help him up. "What happened to you?" Amy asked. "What happened to you?" Fabian asked. "Lots of things," Amy replied. "Well, we've been here all night," I said. "Where's Greg?" Fabian asked. "Can't find him," Amy shrugged. A couple of policemen helped Zac to get Taylor out of the room. "Have you tried at Mike's house? He said he was going to take Zoltan there," I said. "Zoltan?" Amy asked. "He got involved too," Fabian explained. "Well we'd better go there then," Amy said, and began to tell the policemen. Just then, a car drove up. From the window, Fabian and I saw it was Greg. And he had Zoltan, Jacky and Rachel! The policemen stood on either side of the door, ready to spring on him. Greg opened the door, and was immediately sprung! He was caught! Jacky, Rachel and Zoltan were recovered. Greg was hand-cuffed, and driven off somewhere to be questioned.

"Where's Isaac?" Taylor asked Zac and Amy. "Safe and sound, on his way home. Looks a bit like you actually," Zac said. "Did they get Mike?" Fabian asked. "Yep," Amy replied. "So, now what?" I asked. Amy shrugged, "we go home." We had to walk home, as the police had already left, taking Zac and Taylor with them. We said good bye to Rachel and Fabian first. Then we walked a bit further down to the shops, and said goodbye to Zoltan, then Amy. Then Jacky and I walked to my house, and Jacky said goodbye, then walked on to her own house. A couple of weeks later, we each got a letter from Isaac, Taylor and Zac, saying what had happened to them, and asking what had happened to us. Fabian, Zoltan, Amy, Jacky, Rachel and I got together on the weekend, and got together a letter to send to them. The whole thing was still our secret!
