Chapter 11 - Three Guys & A Girl
Police were scattered around the yard, everywhere so it seemed. Mike was being rushed out of his car and into his house. A couple of gunshots were heard, and there were lights flashing everywhere. We hid behind the fence. "What's happening?" Zoltan asked. On the way, we'd filled him in on what had happened so far. At first, he'd thought it was a joke, but he finally realized it was true. Then all of a sudden, it calmed down. We watched. Then Mike was walked out of the house, accompanied by Greg. They got into a car, and drove off. "I guess they're not here then," Fabian said. We all thought for a moment.

"We've got to find them," I said. "How?" Taylor asked. We all started to think of a plan. After about 5-10 minutes, Zoltan spoke up. "First we have to work out how to find out where they are, then we have to find them, then rescue them, then figure out what to do next," he said. It sounded more complicated as he said the words out loud. "We should of follwed that car," Fabian said. "Well we can't now," Taylor said. "Obviously," Fabian replied. "Then why did you mention it?" Taylor asked, his voice sharp. "I was just saying what we should have done," Fabian replied, with the same sharpness in his voice. It was then on obvious that Taylor and Fabian hated each other. You could see it in their eyes, you could hear it in their voices, and whenever they were together, they showed it as much as they could. Zoltan and I couldn't think of what had started this, but it was clear that neither of the boys were going to give up the fight. We then made up our minds that the next time one of us were alone with one of them, we'd have a talk to them and find out what it was all about. At the moment though, there was something else to worry about.

Just then, the car came back, with just Greg inside. He got out and went inside. A moment later, he came out, went to the car, fixed something in the back seat, and began to look around the yard. "Shit," Zoltan murmured. "If he finds us, we're in deep trouble," Fabian said, quietly. Greg saw us. He began to walk towards us. "I think we'd better be going now," Fabian said. "Didn't you know he had a gun?" Taylor asked, sarcastically. "Right now, I don't care," I said, as I started to move away. The other three followed. We weren't sure if Greg had seen us move, but as soon as we heard a small rustle in the bushes, we took off at top speed. Only to bump into several men, waiting for us. They knew we were coming, and were ready for us. They grabbed hold of us, and spun us round to face Greg. He appeared from the bushes, and, looking amused, came over to us.

"Finally," he said. "You wouldn't happen to know where your friends are, would you?" he asked. "Even if we did, we wouldn't tell you," Taylor said, scornfully. "Very well," Greg said, and nodded to the men. We were taken to Greg's car. In the back, was a weird arrangement of straps, criss-crossing in front of the three back seats. "Sure?" Greg asked. It was news to us that they'd escaped in the first place. Fabian said so. "Alright," Greg said. Then the men put us in the car. They put Taylor in the front seat, beside Greg, with his hands hand-cuffed behind his back. Zoltan, Fabian and I were put in the back. We soon found out what the straps were for. In a certain way, our wrists were pushed into the middle of the crosses, and the straps were tightened. Greg got in the car and started it, then drove to his house.

Then he got out, freed our wrists one at a time, and took us inside. He left Taylor's hands hand-cuffed. He shoved us into the loungeroom, and into the sofas. Then he hand-cuffed our wrists together. While he was hand-cuffing me, I said: "Wow, never been hand-cuffed before." "Well they will be for a long time now," Greg replied. I lowered my eyebrows, and looked at Zoltan. "Is it just me, or do we all not like the sound of that?" I asked. No one replied. Greg left the room when he finished. He came back in a couple of seconds. He unlocked a door in the wall, obviously a closet, grabbed us, and threw us in. Except Taylor, who was left in the loungeroom. "I think Taylor was right when he said that Greg was going for him," I said. "So?" Fabian murmured. Zoltan looked at him in surprise. I thought that he didn't think that Fabian could be so mean. We sat down. After a while, we heard Taylor yell. We all jumped, though you could see that Fabian didn't really care. Though you could still tell he was scared. He definately wasn't as scared as Zoltan before, you could see that. Although Zoltan wasn't as used to this as we were.

In about half an hour, Greg unlocked the door, and grabbed Zoltan. After taking him out, he locked the closet again. I tried to listen through the door, while Fabian fiddled around with his hand-cuffs, trying to figure a way out of them. Greg was talking to Zoltan about what was happening, and saying that they'd go a tiny bit easier on him because he was new. He didn't sound like he would, and I was sure he didn't look like he would either. I told Fabian that he was 'sucking up' to Zoltan. Then Greg took Zoltan somewhere, and came back to the closet for me. He took me into the loungeroom, and made me sit on a sofa. Then he started walking back and forth.

"I've realized that you've tried to make life difficult for me ever since this started," he began. "You only just noticed? Wow, you're bright," I mumbled. Greg gave me a quick reminder that he had a gun, and went on. "So I've made up my mind to try and make your's a bit difficult," he said. "You haven't already?" I asked, sarcastically. He hesitated. "You are daring, aren't you?" he said. "Why?" I asked. "You know I could kill you at any moment," he replied. "But, you won't," I said. "Oh, and why not?" he asked. "I know you better than you think I do," I said. "Why not?" he repeated. "Well, I know you'd rather give us a hard time than let us 'rest in peace'," I said. "You've done your homework, haven't you," Greg said, looking pleased. I thought he was being sarcastic.

He took me to the bedroom that Taylor and I had been in before, and locked me in. Again, the bed was the only thing in the room. On the other side of the bed, I saw Taylor sitting down, resting his head against it. I went over to him, and gasped at what I saw.
