Perus City: Yards & Cement Mill

The above foto is very rare, showing the Perus yard, west side, with a string of empty gondolas leaving in Cajamar direction. The wide gauge was at the east side of the yard. At left, the loaded composition that has arrived with the same loco that is now departing to Cajamar. In the small shed at left, passengers are waiting to take the last car of the composition. The car can be seen at right of the Traffic control house, a two-stall building at center.

This foto was taken by the Japanese group (“Kemuri Pro”) and published by Koyusha Publications from Japan. Copy of foto sent by Nilson Rodrigues

Above, another interesting foto made by Mr. Alexandre Garcia, and sent by his grandson Nelson Bueno Camargo. The foto shows a group of Canadians during the start of construction of the “Brazilian Portland Cement Co.” installations at Perus. Note the presence of the “Texas-Mex” tank car, with the almost-suastic cross at ends. Foto taken in 1923

Foto of the cement mill, looking west. This was the entrance side of the broad-gauge cars, that can be seen at left. AT this time, rails of the Perus-Pirapora were being installed. Note that the ties were constructed with cement…Foto by Mr. Alexandre Garcia, taken in 1930
