So that the final product isn't too cluttered, you should limit the number of initial runes to about five. In order for it all to be harmonious, runes can be oriented in any way- normal, reversed, upside-down, or upside-down reversed. When the runes are being chosen however, only the correct position meaning should be considered, and not the upside-down. Also, the scale of each rune in comparison to the rest can be different, i.e. some runes may need to be drawn a little smaller to fit on the line of another rune. In general, a lot of artistic license can be taken when creating bindrunes, but some care should be taken not to warp the rune so far as it is indistinguishable.

Once a bindrune has been formed, there is often accidental 'hidden' runes created. This simply adds to the beauty of the bindrune, as well as adding to the magick. The beauty of bindrunes lies in the fact that it will either work or not, and there is very little chance of negativity, even if one of these 'hidden runes' is of a negative nature. This, however, does not mean that a good bindrune is any less effective than any other form of magick. They can, in fact, be very powerful!

To create these, it is often a good idea to choose a central rune that has the most to do with the problem at hand. The other runes can then be added on top of it to reinforce the powers that you wish to invoke. From then on, you should utilise you intuition and artistic ability to form a pleasing and powerful bindrune.
