Ewan has formed
a production company- Natural Nylon with friends Jude Law, Sadie
Frost, Jonny Lee Miller and Sean Perlwee.
Ewan's uncle
Denis Lawson is an actor who appeared in the first three Star War
Films as Wedge. It was his uncle that encouraged Ewan to become
an actor as he saw how different his uncle was with long hair, beads
and furry waistcoat.
McGregor was
once strip-searched by US Customs Officials at an airport. They
recognized him from Trainspotting and assumed he had drugs on him.
Ewan as a child
loved to act and his first role was playing David (of Goliath) in
a church play at the age of six. At the age of 9 Ewan had decided
that he wanted to be an actor.
At sixteen
Ewan left Crieff and his school Morrison Academy, with his parents
blessings and went to Perth Repertory Theater. Then Ewan enrolled
in Kirkcaldly in Fife for a year and studied Drama. He then enrolled
at Guidhall School Of Music And Drama at London for a three year
course. But Ewan never graduated from Guidhall, just before graduating
he landed the role of Private Mick Hopper in Dennis Potter's 1993
six part series Lipstick on Your Collar.
Ewan's first
film role was of Alvarez in Bill Forsyth's Being Human with Robin
Williams in 1993. It was only a one- liner part.
Jude Law was
a former room mates of Ewan's.
Ewan was to
play the lead role in 'the Beach' but lost it to Leonardo Di Cicaprio.
Ewan whenever
he can takes his family with him on location. He is very close to
his parents and brother who accompany him to premieres. His mother
had a cameo role in Shallow Grave as one of the would be tenants.
Ewan loves
motorcycles and owns several and is involved in racing Leam In England.
His favorite band is Oasis.
Ewan is the
star of the AEON English language school ads (a huge English school
chain), in Japan, replacing Cameron Diaz as the star of the ads,
in posters and press ads.
