	The San Diego Wild Animal Park is located between Escondido and Ramona in Northern San Diego County. It is here that I assisted in establishing the Baja Cactus Garden. The park is, of course, about much more than that. It is a place of discovery and learning, and even if you never get to visit in person, this official web site is a place to get a feel for the facility. 	The San Diego Padres have as much history in my home town as I do. I have seen them play in 3 different ball yards and watched the team progress from the minor leagues to major league world series contenders. The Pacific Coast League Pads played in Lane Field right on the water front, and then on to Mission Valley Stadium. Both of those ball yards have been demolished and now have hotels and malls in their place. The National League Padres now inhabit Jack Murphy Stadium. Both the 1998 season and their web site are looking pretty good!
