Are you where you wanted to be? Did you get there easily? Did I make you sacrifice, did you make a sharp left when you should have turned right? Are you were you wanted to be? Did you sell of all of your gold? Did you trade it in, will you wait for love or settle for somebody to hold...? My Darren On this section of the site I will take a moment to tell you what Darren and his music means to me. To me, Darren is one of the greatest performers and songwriter the world has ever seen. In a world were almost everyone can somehow get a record deal, it's great to see someone that has everything that a singer should have: a great voice, great stage performeces and beautiful lyrics that makes your heart skip a bit. Darren has the ability to express his thoughts and feelings like so few of todays artists can do. Like so many others, I was a huge fan of Savage Garden. They showed me a world of music that I thought I would never experience. At the end of the 90's I felt like music was dead for me...I didn't like the new sound that was coming: Hip Hop, R&B and Trance. Then, Savage Garden came like an angel sent from heaven (sounds moshy, but it's true..) and I could finally start enjoying good music again!! I was lucky enough to experience both of the Savage Garden tours, a performence of "I knew I Loved You" at a norwegian tv-show and meeting and also getting autographs from Darren and Daniel and those are memories I will never forget. The Savage Garden split was at a time of my life when I was busy with school and exams, and it didn't hit me as hard as a thought. Though the Savage Garden dream was over, I knew I would have the music forever. I was very excited about Darren's solo album. Was I going to like it? What if I didn't? I didn't have to worry, I loved it and I still do. He still knows how to make me smile, cry, dance, scream and jump up and down: "Darren, you are my favorite sound, cause you're always down for lifing me up. Like an Angel..." November 25th, 1999
