Tarin's Dragon |
Tarin walked out into the forest in a slight rage. His family had, once again, got on his case. At this point, Tarin hated his family. They had accused him of doing a terrible thing. Now, no one in his family believed he was innocent, not even his youngest sister who happened to be his closest. Tarin walked over to his buckskinned horse, Sono, and grabbed the harness. Taking one last look back at his home, Sono quickly mounted his horse. Tarin had been riding Sono for about an hour. He had no clue where he was going, nor when he would stop. Finally, approaching Nebula Dragon Cove, he stopped. Looking around, he saw many different people and dragons. The colors of the dragons ranged from a dark blue, to a rare silver. The people were just as different as their dragons. Some had wings with different colors and texture. Tarin was from a small cove, even smaller than Nebula! There were very few people where he was from, and on occasion you would see a dragon. He walked around, guiding Sono. Tarin stopped abruptly and looked at a sign. It read: CLUTCH!!! Silver Blia and red Damia have had a clutch of 7 eggs! They need more candidates, if you feel you can handle a dragon, go sign up!!! He said aloud. "Hey, Sono, did you hear that?" He said turning around to look at his horse. "I coud bond a dragon!!" tarin exclaimed. He then mounted Sono once more and galloped through Nebula. Tarin came to the sands where a sign-up sheet was posted. He read the rules and signed his name. They already had three candidates, two female and one male. "Now Sono, all I got to do is find a place to stay and to work, come on!" Tugging on his horse's reins, he once again began walking through Nebula Dragon Cove. Tarin had some money, not alot though. He left the rest of it at home. Before long, her realised that he needed the money he had left. Quickly, he got onto Sono and galloped as fast as possible, hoping to go to his home and get back to Nebula before sunset. As Tarin arrived at his home, he felt the rage rise up once more. He tried his best to hold it in and not let his excitement or his anger show. Tarin quickly ran into his home, barely saying a word to anyone, and grabbed the sack of money off of his wooden dresser. He then, almost at a jogging pace, ran out and ran right onto Sono's back. Tarin arrived at Nebula Dragon Cove justed as the sky started turning a pinkish-red. "Come on Sono, first things first. We have to find shelter and then food and water." He walked at a quick pace through the cove looking and searching for a shelter. He finally came upon a large house, made of stone, like most of the cove. Upon the door lay a note: We have a room open for lease or for temporary staying. We also have room for your horse or dragon, if you have one! "Well, well, well. Isn't that... ironic! We are looking for a room and here it is, at the.." Tarin looked up at the sign above the door, "at the Kantel House." He said as he tied Sono up to the nearest pole. "Now behave yourself, I'll be back as soon as possible.' Tarin left his horse and opened the door to the Kantel House. "Hello!!!" Tarin shouted looking around and finding that no one was there. Not even as secoond later, an old woman appeared in a doorway. "Hello, what do you need dear?" she said in a sweet voice. "I was interested in you room that is open. How much are you asking for?" Tarin asked. "Well, since a boy your age probably hasn't got a lot of money and since this room has been open for more than a week, I'll give it to you cheap. How about 8 copper pieces?" The old woman asked. "Great!" Tarin replied. He actually could afford it at a higher cost, but he was very happy at the price. "Ok, let me show you around.. hold it wait! Are you staying here temporarily, or permanently?" She asked him. "Um... what would you consider permanent?" He asked her. "More than just 2 weeks," the old woman replied smiling. Even when she did not smile, you could see the creases in her face. Her white hair was in a tight bun on her head. "Well then, I guess I am here permanently then!" He said. "Great! I am Shania," the old woman said. 'I am Tarin. I have a horse though, that is ok, right?" He asked just in case. "Of course," Shania said. "Now follow me!" She said once more before she began walking around, with her lavender dress swishing back and forth behind her. |
