The effect of civilization

I have always felt that something is wrong with the way we are living. I don't know why but the feeling that something all these fellows are doing is wrong was there. Not socially but the whole way of living, the promises we make, the  education we are having, the way we look at people, all these seem to puzzle me. Why?.

Why are we here?. What the hell are we doing around us?. What are we doing to Earth?. We have become masters of Earth and are in the process of conquering the outer space. We clone sheep's and man is not far behind in the list. We produce, reproduce and again produce and this cycle is going on effectively for so many years now. What's all the meaning for this?. Are we supposed to be like this?. Are we destined to be like this?. To conquer and rule?.

When I read evolution in some detail, the first question I asked was what happened to evolution now?. Are we evolving?. Do other creatures are evolving?. That was a wonderful feeling. That we are mutating. But to my disappointment, the evolution I saw or read about are all occurring in some remote islands rather than in the main lands. Sagan or any other scientist is assuring me that evolution is occurring in places where mother nature is intact. Wait a minute... then where the hell am I in?. Am I not living in nature?. What happened to the nature which I believed to be around me?. A deep silence. I know these guys know the answer. But not a single word about it was written. Why?

I believed very strongly in science. I even tried to deny the existence of a god. But when I realized that science is giving me half-information, talking about the glory of human achievements and not about the price we have paid for it, I was disillusioned. I read more books determined not to believe a single word. Odd it may seem, but I tried to locate the places where everybody is silent. I tried to look the things scientists or anthropologists don't want to talk about. When you start looking for some thing like that you will find a lot more than you expect.

First question, why evolution is not occurring or occurring minimally among us?. Lot of answers are given for this, shifting the blame from mankind to anything else. We don't feel comfortable to look into the Truth. We don't want to talk about the wastes we are accumulating and the way we are consuming. This is actually not a question of human evolution. Rather I look at it as an answer to the follies we have done in the past 10000 years. The pollution we are causing and the consuming mentality we are nurturing are not only going to stop our evolution, but to stop creation as a whole. The civilized humans are hell bent on killing themselves.

These are not over statements but are facts. We live with a blind belief that Science will solve everything. But science is not going to solve everything. May be we will understand the origins of universe, we may even become a space-faring civilization. But we have done already enough to destroy the planet we are living in. Our nuclear wastes, Our choking atmosphere, Our natural resources...we live in a world we believe to be created solely for our living. We have killed hundreds of species of birds, animals or plants just for the sake of living a bit more comfortably. We destroyed the ecological system which was existing for a ten million years and we are comfortable about it. We debate about the hole in ozone layer but are not willing to do a single thing to set it right. We don't even think we are the ones responsible for it. All in the two hundred years of industrialization. All within the span of ten generations.

I was a realist all the time and the world as I saw it has no more chance of living than the immortality I can boost of. It simply didn't stand a chance against man's will to conquer it.

We are on a drive to become a more homogenous society and we are desperately trying to identify ourselves with the crowd. Anybody who has read something about evolution will say that homogenous societies doesn't stand a chance against Mother Nature. That's why the dinosaurs are wiped out so easily from the face of Earth. Then why no scientist or anthropologist is not saying anything against it?.Do they want us to get wiped out from the face of Earth?. No they were told that Science will find a way out of it. Science hasn't find a way to get out of AIDS for the past 20 years.

        Will write more.......
