the books and wands

The book stores all the cards its
captor captured. It also holds the symbols
of Yue and Cerberus and a map. The map kind of shows Sakura her
progress-- almost like a visual map in a way.
Above: Yue and Cerberus are
physically and magically helping Sakura
transform the powerful Darkness and Light card.
Sakura's powers were not enough to
transform two cards at once. But
the staff, with the consent of its master, can take the guardians' powers
and suck them into the staff. Sakura, though reluctantly, did this to bring
light into the sleeping world again. However if she weren't successful,
Yue and Cerberus both would be stuck in a void in the magic staff.
Have you paid any close attention
to the manga drawings of this episode?
I do not know if it is bad print or just me, but Yue seems to be the first to
lend Sakura his magic. I say this because his moon symbol lights up
first-- then Cerberus follows behind to do the grand finale. I do not
know if even CLAMP paid that close attention to it!

example of the newly altered state of the the cards. Take note on the
front of the book, Yue is a speck on the bottom (which this image does not
show that part of it) and part of the staff on the top.
the magic systems

magic systems introduced in the
Card Captor Sakura series. As you can tell, it has similarities
like in Clow Hierarchy map I did.
Obviously when Sakura came along so
did the born of the star
power. However even with the addition of star power, the star power
does not change the structure much.
As you can tell, I left 'Star' on
the map beside moon and sun. Though
you must take note, Clow made Sakura's star magic stronger in order
to purposefully 'beat' his own 'Clow Magic'. However, I strongly
believe star magic is the same, if not less, than the sun and moon.

However, we are introduced to
another magic system. This particular
magic system is less stronger than the Clow Magic (of course),
Moon Sun & Star power, and Eastern and Western Magic. It is Li
Syaoran's lasin board. The lasin board's function is capable
of finding magical sources (though it is not very accurate at
times), predict things, and perhaps even identify the magic
source it senses. It functions as an alarm for the team.
Where I placed Syaoran's type of
magic on the map explains why Yue can
easily defeat Syaoran. Not only is Yue more experienced, he has the
direct connection to the Clow Magic-- not a descendant like Syaoran.
Yue's powers does not only belong in one group in general. They
have evident properties of the moon, Eastern magic, Darkness,
and the Elemental and special cards. It truly depends
on how you view it.
Whenever people finally got to meet
Yue in person, it confused
several people as to why no one can sense him-- for real that is.
One reason is that Yue, or Yukito, is always around Touya, whose
powers allow Yue to conceal his own. There is a slight suggestion
that Touya's power is possibly stronger than Yue's-- and perhaps
even stronger than Sakura's if he were to exercise it.
Anyway, the lasin board and any
other magic sensors can detect
Yue's magic. But they are not too accurate. First of all, the lasin
board seems to not be able to distinguish two very similar
types of magic-- especially from powerful magic users like
Yue and even Eriol. I say Eriol because when Syaoran (in
the manga series) attempted to figure out who saved
Sakura from the high fever and from a high fall-- Eriol
was able to stop Syaoran from finding his identity.
How Yue keeps his identity if very similar to Eriol's.
However, do not get me wrong with
the lasin board's effectiveness.
It proves worthy for detecting Clow Cards especially. It just has
problems when it deals with the moon guardian Yue.
