: Yue's Cards :
The Clow Hierarchy:
Underneath the master or mistress, there
are the wonderful guardians Cerberus (Sun) and our lovely moon
guardian angel Yue (Moon). Below the guardians are the cards-
that are divided equally between Cerberus and Yue.
Tidbit: Cerberus is usually listed
first, since his energy is the sun, which
makes its own energy. Yue's energy is not from the moon directly. Cerberus
is also the one who picked the master / mistress to do the quest to
collect
all the cards. He is also the first guardian to appear on the show and is the
one first to be supported magically by Sakura. Yue is obviously either
secondary or last on Sakura supporting him, since he needed Touya's
magic to not disappear.
Two Guardians and the Cards
We will use Yue as an example. We will review
first. Yue is the moon
guardian angel. His most powerful cards are Dark, Windy, and Watery.
I will be using Windy for this demonstration. Windy is known as a
rather gentle card and would not be named as one of the top cards
if it weren't for it to be an elemental card.
Tidbit: The Chinese elements are Fire,
Water, Earth, and Wood.
Instead of Wood, sometimes it is Sky or Wind. But usually, Wind is
added on so it will be: Fire, Water, Earth, Wood, and Wind. Fire
and Water are considered the strongest, and Earth is considered
the balance of them all. There are, however, variations of this idea.
Back to about Yue and Windy, if Yue were around
and Sakura cast
Windy-- what do you think will happen? Naturally, Windy will become
stronger, depending upon Yue. You may think this is not true due to
the Final Judgment but keep in mind-- the whole thing was a set-up.
That incident broke the rules of the natural hierarchy.
Now, you are probably thinking that means the
guardians are
dependent on the master-- which means the cards are dependent
on the master! Only to a certain extent. I would like to remind you,
Yue did say after the judgment "You cannot control the guardians".
The only thing that binds the guardians permanently to the master
is their own self will, loyalty, and a few other things perhaps but
other than that-- they are independent, which means the cards
are directly influenced by the guardians. The cards are
truly influenced by the master only when the guardians
are willing to accept this person as their master.
Tidbit: To prove it, think of what Ruby
Moon said about Yue in
the manga. She first said that Yue's mistress is so much weaker
than Eriol, so naturally Cerberus and Yue are weaker than
Spinel Sun and Ruby Moon. Again, this is only to some degree.
Both Cerberus's and Yue's self will, loyalty, and such made
them be able to defeat Spinel Sun and Ruby Moon in order
to save their mistress, Sakura.
Okay, back to the Yue and Windy thing again.
Naturally, Yue is
able to utilize all the cards as well-- so long as Cerberus allows Yue
to control the cards under him. But, Yue is unable to control Fiery as
Cerberus can-- since Fiery is under Cerberus. Vice versa-- Cerberus
cannot control Windy as Yue can, since Windy is under Yue.
So, how about Cerberus? Cerberus has the cards
like
Light, Fiery*, and Earth* underneath him. These are also assumed to
be his most powerful cards and requires more magic to summon them
(You can see this true when fighting Eriol and Sakura needed to
summon both Light and Dark Card).
Cerberus's abilities and influence on the card
is pretty much the same
as Yue. It may perhaps vary slightly-- since he is the sun guardian.
His personality and strengths are quite different from Yue-- so
it does keeps everything to a balance in a sense. However-- is there
any sort of influence when the card is a day or night card? And
are Cerberus and Yue truly 'balanced'?
*Please make note: They needed Sakura to
have Fiery and Earth
to trigger Yue to do the Final Judgment (source comes from the
manga and I think even the episodes show that). It is * not *
just because Sakura had not collected all the cards.
Well, that is it with our studies on the Clow
Hierarchy. I hereby
show you the cards that are under Yue. However, due to my fuzzy
memory, they may not be accurate. I did not list them in any
particular order, except I listed Dark, Windy, Watery, and
Woody somewhere near to the top. Most of these are from
lots of research and contributed help from others.

The Possible Cards Under Yue
Many of Yue's cards listed have to do with
either darkness,
deceiving or confusing someone, on feminine aspects, the
cards on characteristics, and just the moon in general speaking.
Also, they all usually have to do with Yue in some way.
- Yue's best and most powerful card is no
other than Dark (Manga 5).
(Sakura needed both Yue and Cerberus's help to change both the
Light and the Dark Card when fighting against Eriol)
- Windy is another powerful elementaal card that saved Yue (actually
Yukito) when Yukito fell off the balcony and Touya was unable to
catch him. (It also shows Yue's friendship with the cards).
- If Cerberus has Fiery, I would hope to thhink Yue has Watery.
It is all about balance. Yue also throws crystal shards and
create his magical attacks that seem kind of icy too.
- Yukito is, in a sense, Yue's twin--- his other side-- his alter ego.
Most people like to think Yukito as the part of Yue that is hidden.
It is known that having twins is prosperous-- and the moon means
of good fortune and prosperity as well.
- Who is always saving Sakura? Yue. Who used
himself as a
'human shield' to save his mistress from a teddy bear? Yue.
Shield is protection. Also, the moon provides us protection
at the nighttime-- so Earth does not get too cold.
- Illusion is utilized when Sakura cconfesses her love to Yukito,
who gently and rather indirectly says of his love for Touya.
Sakura called on this card to protect Yue from other people
seeing him. In the manga, Yukito saves Sakura from this card
and indirectly hints her on how to overcome the card.
- Woody (Manga 6) worked with Yue too entangle Sakura.
Woody is another gentle card and provided another type
of protection for Sakura to catch the Fly Card (Manga 1).
- Time is something Syaoran figures out about Yue. Yue,
for a time, moped about the past with Clow. Also, the moon
is known for how people made calendars as well. Also, I think
Sakura used Time on Yue-- which did nothing.
- Yue warned Sakura he was going to erase
her memories
if she did not find a way to defeat him (somehow, he kind of
guided Sakura on the Judgment indirectly). Yue also almost
disappeared if it weren't for Touya's help. Also, Clow and Eriol
screwed up with Yue's memories so many times.
- Mirror makes false images-- or refflections. Moons make
reflections in the sense to absorb energy. Mirror is kind of
like Yukito. Someone told me that she may be able to
show what a piece of Yue and Yukito's feelings show.
Perhaps since Yue understood of Yukito's heart for himself.
Touya for quicker than Yukito realized it for himself.
- The Maze was used to protect Yue ffrom being seen
by others. It was used alongside Illusion. Mazes represent
intelligence-- and Yue has the mind of reason when he told
Cerberus to tell Sakura that to defeat the teddy bear,
she needed to find the source of the magic (Manga 7).
- Shadow is another kind of 'shade rreflection'. The moon
can cast a shadow on the sun. Sakura always yelps when
Yue appears behind her (kind of like her live-walking shadow).
- Arrow is obviously something Yue
uses as his famed attacks.
Always, there is a phrase called -- hunting by moonlight --.
Most people go hunting with bows and arrow, not hatchets
and clubs. (You can look at my tidbit section on this art)
Yukito and Kaho (I think) do archery too.
- What happens to Yukito is a dream for Yue. He did say
he knew everything of Yukito.
- Cloud is part of the wind and wateer. Cloud is something
that fuzzed Yue's and Cerberus's memories. Cloud creates
shadows upon the earth. Cloud protects the Earth from
hazardous, ultraviolet rays from the sun.
- Wave is a part of water. A wave inn the ocean is always
constant-- always moving. You can put it as something
Yue learned that life goes on. Waves can be harsh and
cold-- but waves can be gentle at times. It is said the
moon has direct influence on the tides as well.
- The Silent is something people
frequently describe Yue as.
He is of few words but when he speaks, it is almost always
worth hearing. Also, think of the song Silent Night and how
peaceful it is unlike the day. Again, Yue also was silent
about showing himself Touya, until Touya told him he
already knew he was there and there was no need
to hide anymore.
- It is another part of the wind, rain, andd etc. and can
represent Yue's silent storm of his negative feelings. Also,
storms are most prominent at night.
- The cute Rain card is with the stoorm, mist, wind, and etc.
The weather trouble is one of Yue's first missions after
accepting Sakura as his mistress. Rain also is a part of
the cycle of nature-- like some other cards.
- Lock is another form of protectionn or shield. Yue wanted
to lock himself from the world. Yue does not show his emotions
too clearly. Yue was the last before Sakura can be an official
Card Captor mistress.
- Loop is something that Clow was
something Clow tried to
rid Yue from. Loop is something that goes on and on again--
the same old routines. The moon, itself, goes in a loop--
or an orbit-- around the Earth. There are certain phrases
of the moon. Loop is something that can snag someone--
as a loop of wind snagged Yue into capture-- as a loop
of the past kept Yue from going on-- as a loop in a maze.
- Mist is kind of part of Windy. I aam beginning to think Yue
has a lot to do with the weather. Also, the moon is a sign of
weather, which helps predict the harvest for old agriculture.
- Yue, for a time, could not get over Clow Read-- since he has
more human characteristics that Cerberus does. Also, when he
accepts Sakura as mistress, Yue triggers a dream for her to
see Clow Read. Also, Sakura is returned back to their past, something
Yue cherishes the most-- something Clow tried to take completely
away from him (and I mean especially him).
- Yue was mighty willing to allow sleep< to overcome him forever,
so he does not have to go through and find another mistress.
Hmm-- was it that Yue hates to and loves to sleep? Also,
we sleep when the moon is up-- at night that is.
- Personally, I like fish, so I put it
here-- not. Actually, I put it here,
because I would think that if Yue has Watery-- and Freeze is only a
solid form of water. A lot of people like to think Yue cold. Also when
you stop time-- it is also known as to freeze time. Freeze suggests
a defense feeling-- like to stop and think about situations.
- The Snow is made up a lot of waterr, would you think? Yue is always
compared as being cold and ruthless-- and snow can be the same.
I can not imagine Cerberus using snow-- except to splat a snowball
at Yue. Yue is also clothed nice and white.
