Appearance

The Christian atmosphere at Monroe County Christian Academy is reflected in the appearance of the students and faculty. Cleanliness, neatness, appropriateness, and modesty are important guiding factors in projecting the desired image at Monroe County Christian Academy. It is the parents and individual students responsibility to ensure that they are clean, neat and appropriately attired to attend school. Final judgment rests with the teachers and administration. We ask that parents assist in meeting these appearance standards.

Our dress code requires that students not wear any item with hate slogans or symbols or foul language on them.

Behavior

The environment that Monroe County Christian Academy provides must be nurturing and reflect that Christianity will be evident and paramount over the many negative influences that challenge our students. We believe that Christians should make provisions for a program that elevates Christ over society and self.

Respect for each other is necessary to maintain an environment that is conducive to learning. Disruptive conditions and unrestrained behavior provoke a lack of respect for Christ, others, and education and lead to disrespect of oneself. Instilling a love for learning is a prime goal for all teachers, parents, and students. Monroe County Christian Academy will provide an environment that is best suited for learning and attaining good habits to be used throughout our students' lives, therefore we do not allow hitting, cursing,or griping.

Safety is paramount for all our students. They have the right to work, play, and learn in an environment that assures their families of safety. No intimidation or horseplay will be tolerated.

Corrective disciplinary action may include, but will not be limited to the following:

1. Counseling by the teacher, warnings, loss of privileges, change of seating, report to parents, written work, after school requirements, suspension, demerits and paddling.

2. If the student continues with unacceptable behavior, the student may be expelled.
