There's a
world beyond reality, |
Prologue: I love theatre, in all its shapes and sizes. I grew up with South Pacific, My Fair Lady, Guys and Dolls, and Funny Girl on film. It wasn't until my cousins introduced me to the Phantom of the Opera and Les Misérables (which, to this day are still absolute favourites) back in '93 that I really thought of these childhood films as originating on stage. A whole new wonderful world opened up for me...and luckily with parents behind me the whole way. I enjoy acting on the rare occasion, but lighting is my passion. I did lighting for my high school and was a member of the local theatre group, Pacific Okinawa Players. With them, I got my first taste of professional theatre working on Nunsense, Steel Magnolias, and the Phantom Tollbooth. I am an alumni of SUNY @ New Paltz where I majored in theatre with a technical concentration. Some of my favourite shows from then are: Sweeney Todd, Man of La Mancha, the Seven Year Itch, Henry IV, and the Grapes of Wrath. During college, I started working summer repertory at Pendragon Theatre as a techie. After college, I moved to the area to continue working with them (why give up a great gig?). Pendragon has given me some awesome experiences, including going on the road with a show. A few of my favourites: Shakespeare's 12th Night, Angels in America, and Tartuffe. Currently I'm on "sabbatical" from Pendragon, but I know theatre will always be in my life, even if I decide not to make a career of it. It has dug itself too deep within my skin, my heart, my soul. I am debating returning to school for either a Masters or a teaching degree so I can help bring theatre into the schools. Now, on with the show... I've been working on putting back together my casts list and actors directory. They are far from complete, but it's a start. Below the theatre and beyond the lake in the Phantom's lair are some old phanfic and pictures. |
