Joseph Woffenden was born in approximately 1752, probably in Shafton, Yorkshire. I do not know who his parents were, or if he had any siblings. According to the Church of Latter Day Saints he married Elizabeth (unknown) and went on to have seven children, as listed above.
I am descended through his son, Joseph (b.1785). Contact has been made with Jann Robinson LaValley (jhlavalley@sympatico.ca) who is descended from Sarah Woffenden (b. 1782).
I have never been able to find Joseph in the first census of 1841 so I assume he is dead by this point as he would be very old.
