Hannah Pitt was born in Newcastle in approximately 1808. I don't know who her parents were. She married Edward Stephenson and they had six children; Edward, Thomas, John, Elizabeth, William and Robert. The family is listed in the 1841, 1851 and 1861 census as living in Dog Bank, Newcastle. Her husband, Edward, is listed as a hairdresser in one of the census returns and a furniture broker in the others. Two of their sons had also followed him into hairdressing. I don't know when Hannah died.
